Based on the reviews, SAYO Japanese Restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience with fresh, flavorful food and excellent service. The sushi is described as incredibly fresh, with melt-in-your-mouth texture and beautiful presentation. Specific meals mentioned include the shrimp tempura appetizer, spicy yellow tail roll, black garlic roll, chicken karaage, popcorn okra, and ube cheesecake. The black garlic roll has a subtle garlic flavor that slowly comes out, and the ube cheesecake is described as "stupid good." The fried items like chicken karaage and popcorn okra are perfectly fried but could use a little salt. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, with one server, Henny, highlighted for being a gem. The atmosphere is beautiful, intimate, and clean, with light jazz music and fresh flowers on the table. Free parking is a major bonus in Midtown Atlanta. Everything is delicious and fresh, with reasonable serving sizes and quick service. The restaurant is a wonderful addition to the area, offering authentic and high-quality Japanese cuisine. Reviewers highly recommend this spot and plan to return.
