Cafe 209 Reviews
After visiting Augusta’s History Museum to see the God Father of Soul James Brown display we went across the street and grabbed lunch from 209 Cafe’. The food was delicious and the staff showed such warmth and southern hospitality. Talk about a good home cooked meal!! Definitely try the banana pudding and fried catfish. I highly recommend!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful meal and great place to have a business lunch. We told the staff ahead of time that we needed a table for a meeting and they were accommodating and so understanding of our need for few interruptions! Stellar crew! And the food- you will 💯% clean your plate!
food was delicious... Soul food.

Cafe 209 offers a memorable dining experience, transporting guests to their grandmother's kitchen. The fried flounder plate and vegetable plate are standouts, featuring large, light, and crunchy flounder alongside delectable sides. The fried chicken, made to order, and the refreshing sweet tea are favorites, and the mac and cheese is by the book. The peach cobbler is to die for. Other excellent dishes include the chicken fried steak, oxtails, white rice, and mashed potatoes with oxtail gravy. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a must-stop for anyone visiting. Chef's excellence, combined with gracious hospitality and knowledgeable service, makes this little home cook gem in downtown Augusta worth the wait. The spacious and clean dining area adds to the experience, ensuring guests feel at home while enjoying down home Southern soul food.
