I'm always looking for a locally owned restaurant when I'm on the road and Big D's did not disappoint. We got pulled pork and sliced brisket which were both delicious. The collards were fantastic! Pleasant employees and quick service.

New stop now on our way home from wineries in Dahlonega, I call and order ahead of time and eat outside. Corn bites are my favorite as for the meats we all have our favorites combos are the best and for my picky daughter who doesn’t eat she loves the chicken

Had the family show up and the ask was BBQ. Ran over here and wanted to chat with the lady at the front on what I should order to feed a group of people. She was uninterested in helping from the moment I entered and there were awkward pauses as I asked questions. I was there with my autistic son, who loves to vocalize the desire to work at all the places we visit. When the lady at the counter heard him she said "you don't want to work here" and rolled her eyes. They really need to have individuals with customer service skills at the front of the house. Food was trash and no one really wanted to try it.

Reviews were great. Sadly our experience was not. Presentation was non existent. Food appeared thrown on plates. Orders wheeler sent out with sides on wrong plates and a true side placed on a plate rather than for the table as requested. Sent back food. Just not a great experience. In town visiting and went to Moonies a couple days ago…highly recommended over this restaurant. A bit of care and concern for customer experience would go a long way. A bit long in the tooth and worn. I will say the hush puppies and homemade ranch were good. Spent almost a 100 for 5 people and 3 didn’t eat a third of what was ordered.

I loved the BBQ here. The hush puppies were awesome. Place doesn’t look appealing and is next to a gas station but don’t be fooled Big D’s is a solid joint and I’ll be back.

Very solid meat here. The brisket and pork are tasty. The side items are decent, but it's clear to me that the place hangs it's hat on smoking meat. Great place to grab take out if you are up at Lake Lanier and need some good quick eats after a day on the water.

Not impressive. The food was fine, albeit a bit expensive for the quantity. There was really no service, a woman took our order at a window and our name was called to pickup our food. The seating area was lackluster at best

Good bbq. I had the incredibly pricey, sliced brisket plate. Fat had been trimmed so it was all meet. Also had okra and slaw. A really good meal...but expensive.
