“I got the seafood pepper soup and it was one of the best dishes I’ve tasted! The soup was so flavorful and they were not shy with the seafood. Chauncy and the other cooks made everything on the spot and from scratch, so everything was freshly made. The portion sizes were great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!“

“Usually never a problem out of the 3 times I’ve been here but tonight the Dibi had a lot of bone and hardly any meat. Also received half plate portion of meat and not full. Hopefully this won’t be a usual occurrence. Other than that perfectly seasoned.“

“Makay Chopbar catered my wedding last weekend and everything was a hit! Our menu included jollof with veggies, spring rolls, plantains, meatpies, grilled chicken, tomato goat stew, beef suya, and egusi! We barely had leftovers and all the guests raved how flavorful, tender, hot, and delicious the food was to honor my husband’s culture. It was a joy to see folks who never had this food going back for seconds and even grabbing to-go containers.
The communication was impeccable and the chef accommodated special requests for food preparation to use traditional ingredients. The team arrived on time, created a lovely display, and the servers were so friendly. They also cleaned the area very well before departing.
Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely order food and even try the their shipping option to VA! Paul runs a honest and affordable catering business. We greatly appreciate the entire staff for making our wedding day extra special!“

“While I'm usually quite particular, I must say the suya and jollof rice were delightful. The service was commendable, the waitresses were bad AF and met all my expectations surprisingly. The hookah surpassed my expectations with its unexpectedly smooth flavor. If you're in Atlanta, it's definitely worth a visit. The ambiance is sexy, and the music creates a great vibe. I'd rate it 10/10.“

“Just wanted to leave a review of this spot that I found on my lunch break. First time to the area so I wanted to try something new and flavorful. I asked the woman what was good to try. She said the goat spaghetti or chicken spaghetti which both looked amazing. Since I had a taste for rice she recommended this dish. I don’t know what it’s called but it was phenomenal! It is beef, rice, tomato, and salad. The flavor is unmatched to anything I’ve eaten in a very long time, and I’m PICKY. I would definitely give 5 stars. The sauce was spicy but in a good way. I didn’t want it to end when I finished. So good and very worth the price.“

“I rarely have the chance to get to different African spots cuz I live far enough away that it's always at least an hour to get somewhere. I saw this on my route home, stopped and ordered the okra soup. I didn't specify rice so I got fufu that's okay but the service was quick. Food was super hot and so delicious and spicy, I had to leave a review. I'm so glad I found the spot cuz it's actually maybe 45 minutes from me and I will be back for sure!“
