I used to live near here and this was my go to spot, I moved across the country for six years and was thrilled to find they're still open when I moved back last month. “The snapper is the shit!! I mean their other fish is good too. I've had the catfish, founder and a few other things. Crab bites are ok for imitation. Their okra is hit or miss. Other locations have better okra than this one. But be prepared, as all JJ's, this is definitely in the hood! I mean where else do you expect to get good fish or soul food from?“

“I am in love with their mala chicken. I came here during the mid afternoon, so it was almost empty. Service was quick, and the place was quiet. They have two TVs on if you're the type who enjoys background noise or visuals.

I wish the mala chicken had more sauce because it was delicious. Because we had the rose tteotboki, it was a good combo with both. It wasn't dry and mostly breading luckily.

They have a happy hour everyday 2-5pm. So we got a beer pitcher which was a few dollars less. They only have 4? Beer pitcher options. I tried their ponce at night IPA, which was okay, not extremely bitter. They didn't allow samples so we took the gamble.“

“I enjoyed my meal overall but wanted to leave a review here since for whatever reason ubereats would allow me to rate my order.I wanted to give this order 5 stars because overall I really did enjoy my meal but there just a few things preventing me from doing so.I ordered the spaghetti it’s a TASTY and HUGE portion of food. But my garlic bread was very BURNT. So burnt I’m surprised they thought it was fit to serve.The salmon with rice and salad was good! You get a ton of Haitian rice. I never had it before but really enjoyed it. Although the rice had a slightly burnt taste to it. Like the rice itself wasn’t burnt but maybe the bottom of the pot was. But it was still edible and well seasoned but the burnt after taste does linger. Also, they forgot to include my plantains.Lastly, I ordered what was labeled “Haitian Kola” on Uber eats thinking it was some sort of fancy Hatian cultural soda and was really excited to try a new drink but it turned out to be regular old fashioned coke. I was a bit disappointed and had I known it was regular Coke I would not have ordered it.Overall the items that bothered me weren’t enough to write this place off completely. Everyone has off days so I will try it again. But next time I’ll try it in person instead of ubereats.Like I said great taste and HUGE portions. Will give them another try.“

“Came to this location on 08/13/25 and the only person that was there running the whole restaurant by herself. Her name was Santana and she definitely deserves a better position and nice good pay raise. She was moving fast and very respectful. I felt bad for her but she definitely proved that she can run things without help. I hope she remembers me by this post. The person on the speaker had a thick accent and I could not make out what was said completely but I think he asked if the ingredients in the fried rice were okay, either way, it was considerate and good customer service. The wait was not long but expected. The drive-thru is convenient, I'm not a fan of being outside anymore. Thank you for a great experience!“
