I am so glad I found this restaurant! As a person with a chronic inflammatory illness, its hard to find good places to eat that wont make me flare up. American food makes me physically sick. I normally flare up whenever there are additives, canned, or unhealthy ingredients in general. I have ordered from St Bess 3 times so far and every time I feel great! No flares which is rare for me. I am so glad to have found a place that truly serves fresh clean food and can give me a break...
Service was amazing. Food was properly cooked and fresh. I really wanted to like it, but everything was lacking a level of flavor that I’m use to getting when eating Jamaican food. Mac& cheese was very cheesy, but a little on the bland side. Cabbage, rice& peas, as well as the brown stew chicken just all lacked “that” flavor. Food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either in my personal opinion. However, overall it is still a place I’d highly recommend others...
I would like to say I wasn’t impressed by the prices or the flavors as a person of Caribbean descent the food was severely lacking. The rice was undercooked the oxtails were dry and lacked flavor cabbage was ok but it’s hard to mess up cabbage, then plantains were not even included in an almost $40 dollar oxtail plate. I would not recommend this place sorry not sorry
