I enjoyed the food but it was a bit too local for me. I mean "too local" because almost everyone is Spanish speaker, the music and tv are in Spanish and even the servers speaks barely English. I went there at almost 3pm and it was crowded. I live nearby do for now on I will just order to go. I gotta confess that I was feeling very intimidated xx

This is by far the worst Mexican food I've had in a long time. The margarita had no tequila and then I had to pay for extra shot of tequila in a 4 ounce margarita that ended up costing me $14

Always clean, always consistently good and fresh quality, consistently "speedy Gonzales" on delivery with the food. Every once in a while they are a bit too stingy with too little sauce or cheese on a mole enchilada or a chimichanga, but the nachos and the fajita salad are mad consistent and very filling and tasty. I also love the caldo de pollo; it has a unique blend of vegetables that accompany the chicken. This is definitely one of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. I can't wait to explore more options on the menu, and now that they serve more alcohol, I will be eating in more often!

Passed by several times and went on a whim with my cousin. Was served promptly and food was out within 15 minutes. You have to ask to refill your chips and you refill your own salsa from the bar after the first one. Was excellent and the maiz tortillas were just as good as when I was in Mexico previously. Can't complain. I spoke Spanish which the servers preferred. Horchata was rich and not watery like most places. Will come again

I came here to try the food just passing by me and my friend ordered 4 steak tacos the owner asked "hard or soft shell " we said soft when we came and checked the food the tacos were fully loaded American style in a flour tortilla not what we asked for at all I calmly expressed the order was wrong all I wanted was cilantro and onion Mexican style I don't like flour tortillas so I know I didn't ask for it I was still fair thinking ok maybe there was a misunderstanding and asked if I could have it Mexican style which cost less than the American and I would have let them keep the difference the server got the manager and the manager did not let me speak at all cut me off and said I asked for American so I have to keep it at that point I had already paid for the food and decided it wasn't worth arguing about so I just left and will never be back because the service wasn't what it was supposed to be ...the problem could have easily been fixed but instead I got attitude and rude service .

Excellent and authentic mexican food! Highly recommended. Friendly environment, very clean, great customer service. Lived in Georgia for over 2 years now and this is the best spot I’ve been!

We were nearby and saw all the great reviews but our experience was not good. The service was so slow and they never refilled our chips or salsa. There's a salsa bar but it didn't have the one they brought us first. We interacted with our waitress a total of 3 times in the hour plus that we were there for a "quick lunch". The rest of the time she would act like she didn't see us. Everything seemed like it came out of a can or was the cheapest possible food quality. Our entrees were bland and the fried items tasted like they had never cleaned their fryer. One of the only times I've ever left a Mexican restaurant not stuffed, because we left most of our food. It was gross.

Wow- what everyone else says: I'm impressed. I'm pretty basic when it comes to Mexican food but today I tried the chicken cheese and rice (arroz loco). This meal blew every other chicken/cheese/rice combo I've ever had put of the water. Totally recommend.

Amazing authentic Mexican food. The only thing is they don't listen to what you want removed from the food. Excellent service other than that and fast!

This place saved the day on my first birthday aka Cinco De Mayo! The original restaurant that I always go to was packed (which fully surprised me) but I remembered El Rio and always wanted to try it since moving over here. I'm so glad and satisfied I went there. The waitresses were very nice and working hard. She recommended a few things and clarified my confusion on the burrito combos. The food was amazing and mouthwatering! The guca could use a little more salt but other than that this will definitely be my go to Mexican restaurant from now on!

Absolutely amazing. Some of the best nachos I've ever had, especially with grilled onions. The chips were very fresh and you absolutely can't beat a huge serving of meat, cojita cheese, queso, grilled onion, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, refried beans and sour cream for $11.

You won't be impressed by the outside. You won't be impressed by the inside. You WILL be impressed by the food. So you always start with chips and salsa, but they take it up a notch here. They give you the normal chips and a salsa with some chunk of tomatoes, onions, cilantro and other seasoning that is clearly visible. It's clearly made in house here. I loved the flavor of all the ingredients; my only note is that it was a bit too watery to substantially stick to the chips. Small thing, but I did think about it on each chip I ate. If for any reason you want a different salsa than the one that is brought to the table.....THEY HAVE A SALSA BAR! I think that is really cool. Lots of different homemade salsas you can try. As if that wasn't enough, they also serve a Mexican rice and chicken soup to start. It was even better than the salsa. I got the carnitas for my entrée. Might be the best carnitas I have had. The pork was so incredibly tender and juicy on the inside and the outside was the perfect amount of crispiness. Sometimes I think places get too much crisp on the outside making it either burnt or at least dry and hard. Not here as it was absolutely perfectly browned and crisped. I will say don't be ordering these expecting a lean cut with fat trimmed off. They certainly left it on here, but if you are ok with that, it will really add a ton of flavor and juiciness to the dish. They serve it with rice, beans and a Mexican salad, and some tortillas as well. All of those were very good too and I especially liked that the tortillas were slightly charred on the grill before serving. If you don't need ambiance and just want some really excellent Mexican food, come here! It's the best place around.
