An excellent meal. We share several appetizers--all excellent but be sure to order the brie with veggies. We didn't expect it to be an entire wheel of brie and could easily have made it a shared main course. \nTight seating but that's unsurprising. The parking lot is a bit hard to find--it's a gravel lot behind the place and doesn't look like a parking lot..\nLots of traditional German food. Try the gluwine!
This time of year always has me craving my grandmother's sauerbraten. While no one can compare to her amazing dumplings, this place came in close second. The meat and gravy was very good & the red cabbage was to die for. I wish they would bottle that! The staff was very friendly and most helpful and meeting the owners daughter and her husband was icing on the cake. Going back today for the potato pancakes. T
My wife and I eat here for our anniversary and I can’t put the experience into words! The food was absolutely amazing and 100% the best German restaurant in town(I’ve been coming to Helen since 2004). Super authentic as the chef Aurel came out to ask how our meal was and spoke to us for around 20-30 minutes. Makes my wife and I who also cook very happy to see someone take such pride in their preparation. If you don’t try this place when in Helen you are missing out for...
