“This is my go-to restaurant for a home cooked burger. The portion side is huge! Tasty crinkle cut fries accompany the burger with crispy goodness. The BBQ may be what they are known for, but the burger is the best around this little community especially at the price you would pay for a frozen pre-made patty at fast food!“

“Stopped in today for lunch and it was delicious. I ordered the 1/2 chicken plate w/fried okra and coleslaw. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. Keep it up!“

“I attended their Crawfish Festival today. From the day I bought my ticket to spending the day with them today Chris and his staff did an excellent job. I felt like family amongst them. You could tell that all staff really enjoyed what they were doing today. I will be back sometime soon to try the BBQ.“

“In February of 2025, Dawg Gone Good BBQ catered a wedding that I coordinated at the UGA Botanical Gardens. The food was AMAZING!! The owner and staff were friendly, professional, and a joy to work with! I’d give 20 stars if I could!! On another note…they have a restaurant in downtown Athens near my husband’s office so it’s very close!! I can go there and get their food often!!“

“I can’t vouch for the BBQ brisket but as a thirty year resident of Central Texas they have righteous breakfast tacos. BBQ setup looked legit and smelled amazing. I did a u-turn and tried it based on that alone. The chorizo was amazing.“

“Lots of people lime my 278th BBQ restaurant. But my long held position is pulled is better than chopped so chopped gets a deduction. The sauce was good, BBQ was at least tender and and a decent portion. Didnt do sides as the selection was slim, but the added slaw was ok. But as for wholes in the wall, its a place to stop if your in the area of Hull/North Athens and you dont want to venture down to Butt Hut or Smokehouse. The price was good too.“

“Had their BBQ pork several times now, and it is the style hubs & I prefer. Wonderful, and their variety of add- your- own sauces makes it a great fit for differing tastes, especially my child whose tolerance of heat & spiciness varies from time to time. 9/10.“

“Excellent Excellent Excellent! Delicious food and a fun time. Our server was the bar manager, and we loved his “aim to please” demeanor! Try as many different sides as you can and be prepared to share! The fried pork skins made fresh on site were unbelievable and immediately took our Puerto Rican friend back to his childhood! I know, no matter which dining facility I go to, that the food will be freaking awesome, the staff will be friendly and answer any questions I may have (and repeat it since I have hearing issues). “Keeley was such a good server. She was on top of everything. We never had to ask for a refill for our drinks because she had them brought out before we were even halfway empty. “I am not a fan of corporate BBQ.....but I do enjoy theirs. The people are friendly and the food is the same. The ribs were juicy and tender, the pulled pork (my personal favorite) is always a good choice. I am from the south but my taste buds are all over the place, I like a spicy sauce and a mustard base here you can make that happen.“

“Food and customer service were good. However, I’ve been to many KBBQ spots, even in cities smaller than Athens, and they all offered more options. This place is definitely the most expensive with the fewest choices. The all-you-can-eat is around $35. I understand it’s the only KBBQ spot in the area, which I’m assuming is why it’s so pricey despite having fewer options than a typical all you can eat KBBQ.“
