Great food. Our server, Josh, was fantastic, but everyone who worked there was on it. We had the cheese board and the girl who brought it gave a detailed overview of each cheese and what it paired well with. Everything we ordered was delicious. Cool place, well-decorated. Highly recommend!

Visiting from out of town, I was brought here by someone local to the Macon area. Never heard of this restaurant before, I was pleasantly surprised. It is an upstairs restaurant where initially it looks like you are entering a different restaurant downstairs. The waitress and hostess were very friendly and knowledgeable. The meals and dessert were amazing. They also have vegan options if you ask and they are very knowledgeable in accommodating special requests. A great place to start out a romantic date night.

Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The farm to table food was super fresh and flavored perfectly. Had the cheese plate and pickled veggies. Everything was amazing! My husband had the ribeye which was a special and it was hands down the best steak we’ve ever had at an establishment. Our serve was fantastic! Perfect date night atmosphere. Will def be back.

All tens for this laid back yet upscale restaurant experience! Our server, whose name I’ve unfortunately forgotten, was a very friendly, red-haired gentleman with a thorough knowledge of the menu and of the local farms and fresh food suppliers in the area.
I first ordered the short ribs and scallops. My 1 complaint was the menu itself. The actual menu lacks thorough explanation of the dish preparation/plating. The main protein of each dish shld be emphasized in greater detail on the menu. Not every item failed in Thai area but the items I ordered did.
I easily assumed the scallops with bacon were wrapped in bacon but there were these hearty pieces of bacon scattered atop the perfectly prepared risotto. The scallops were cooked to absolute perfection - not overdone! I unfortunately returned the short ribs as they jus were not what anyone would have expected. There were shredded pieces of short rib which were mostly dry and lacked flavor. The shredded pieces totaled approximately one tablespoon of meat. This shredded meat lied underneath a savory bread pudding patty which was also dry and lacked flavor. What I appreciated was how easy it was to return the item and in its stead I ordered the deviled eggs.
They eggs were a huge hit!!! When they came out the wonderful mgr offered me a local farm’s hot sauce to use from Rag & Frass Farm. My spouse & his friend ordered the double decker burger with the bacon jam. The unexpected flavors combined beautifully and they both commented that it was the best burger they’d ever eaten. Overall 10/10!! Can’t wait to stop by the next time we’re back in town.

I was in town to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and the hostess told her happy birthday before we sat down . However, our waiter was very “not with it.” He never wished her a happy birthday but he was very frazzled the entire service…so much where two other staff helped him with our small table of 2. He must of told us 8 times and the other table next to us thank you for your patience. I understand to an extent but when I am paying $60 for a steak, I expect a certain level of service. We never received it nor did the table beside us receive it. We were never told the specials even after I asked. I was told by this same waiter that he will get to that later…he never told us. In fact, a waitress came over after noticing how discombobulated he was to take our order after 40 minutes of sitting there with water. The service was just a mess!!! Without knowing the specials, we were just glad that someone could take the order. The food was great but not worth the wait nor the crabby service for such an expensive meal. Save your $$ and go somewhere else less expensive for the crap service. I am also in the service industry, but this was beyond ridiculous and just unprofessional. I don’t need to hear “thank you for your patience” 8 or 10 times during a simple dinner and nothing has been changed. Just change it! We had reservations and the restaurant did not seem over busy. I think we just had a bad waiter.

Absolutely delicious! The food was not only presented beautifully but the taste was out of this world. I loved that the menu was small because they did everything exceptional instead of trying to have so many different options. We got a regular menu item and one of the specials and split it. Planning my next trip to Macon just to go to Dovetail!

Perfect restaurant. Consistently excellent food and service. We always go when we're in town, everything on the menu is excellent, but in particular don't miss the Put Ups, any steak or special, and the Cracked Pie. Also a great little bar, with great bourbon selection, flights, and cocktails. Can't rate it highly enough.
