I don’t know where to start, it has a weird smell when you get in, definitely not a good smell for a restaurant, everything is old and outdated and dark. We ordered family dinner for 3, soup was okay but spring roll was soft and saggy. In the menu it had 3 options, shrimp, beef and chicken, all bad taste, chicken was sour, beef was extremely sweet. Only fried rice option. We just taste and done.

My partner and I have been going here ever since we were babies (strangers). Now that we are together we go every chance we get when we are passing by Madison. We have yet to find Chinese food in any state or any city that we would rather eat over Happy China <3 Home Style Bean Curd, Garlic Eggplant, and Sizzling Rice Soup are the highlights for us. See you at Happy China<3

Decided to go to Happy China on a Sunday evening(8pm). There was no customers in the restaurant. We was seated in a booth with such bad lighting had to use our phones to see the menu. We ordered egg drop soup which was piping hot but good. I ordered General Tsao Chicken, was ok. Wife ordered sweet and sour chicken which was ok. Service was decent, however when we got the bill noticed that a 20% tip was included in the bill. Service and food was decent but don't know if 20% decent, at the very least I would have wanted to include my own tip. We have been going to Happy China for 30+ years, the building is definitely run down and needs a makeover. The resturant had an off smell to it. Don't think we will be visiting again.

This is my first time at Happy China, but it will not be my last. The food was delicious, and the service was great! I would recommend.

Always grab the Kung Pao Chicken for lunch.
Could be a bit spicier.
Place is Wayy run down.
No Beer!!!
But the food is worth going back for, chicken (or 😺) is cooked tender. The egg roll is something right out of the freezer.
Rice is cooked pretty good.
Like I said, the Spicy, could be spicier.

People rate high but can't figure out why. Rice cold and hard, sesame chicken not bad, lo mein noodle looked like a busted under cooked bag of Ramen from dollar store and crab Rangoon tasted like they sat in fryer for 2 days. Top that with a $33 bill for this stuff and I'm not happy. They got me once but never again!

With a party of four, we were sat at a cramped table. When ordering general TSO's, you can only get it with rice, and would have to order seperately for anything different. The menu was not descriptive, with having to ask the server questions that could be answered on the menu. The food was bland with almost no taste to it, and most of my fill came from the rice instead of the main part.

The order was ready quickly. The service was good. The good was not the flavor profile I am used to.
