“My friend girl brought me to this restaurant for my birthday. I had the turkey ribs, collards, yams and Mac and cheese and the bread pudding, we even tried the fried green tomato,she had the turkey wings. OH ! My gosh the food was sooo, ( never heard of nor had a turkey ribs) it was so tender and the sauce was point on. I don't mind paying a good piece if the service and food is great. When I left this restaurant I took a picture and posted on Facebook, telling everybody I know about this fabulous time at this place and they got to try it out. “I've eaten here plenty of times before, but this review is for Wahoo! Grill as a wedding venue. As a Decatur wedding photographer, I've photographed multiple weddings at Wahoo! Grill - you wouldn't know from the modest facade that it held a mini oasis out back, a space that can be transformed for intimate ceremonies and 100+ guest receptions alike.

Restaurants come and go, it's an incredibly hard business to get right (pandemics also don't help...) but as evidenced by being a long-time Decatur staple, obviously the food is great. One fewer thing to have to worry about when planning your reception!

If you're looking for a venue that's in a super convenient Decatur location, with tasty food, a beautiful ceremony/reception space, friendly capable staff and (last but not least) ample free parking, then look no further. Excuse the exclamation points, but long may Wahoo! Grill continue!

“Loco Peppers Sports Cantina is a total ten! The food is very good, everything fresh and with a seasoning that cannot be faulted. The service is for every mother, the gang that works there treats you as if you were family. And the owners, uff, super cool, well-bred, always on hand with people and supporting the community. “Note: This is a 21+ establishment at all times. It is posted all over the entrance to the restaurant. You (most likely) will be asked for ID regardless of how old you look, greying hairs, wrinkles, etc., and you may not be permitted to enter if you do not present a physical, valid ID. Children are not allowed anywhere inside or outside the restaurant. It’s not appropriate for children— there is literally a giant penis statue right next to entrance. I spoke to a very polite hostess who explained this to me and said it is frustrating how many people give her a hard time about this rule and try to bring children in, argue with her because she can’t accept a picture of an ID on the phone, etc. The food is great and the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had. “We're staying at the Hyatt House while undergoing a medical procedure at Northside Hospital across the street so we decided to have dinner at H Bar. Augyst was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The Korean Street Tacos were absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and the salsa wasn't spicy at all. They offer a wide variety of things to eat as well as desserts, which we didn't partake in. We definitely eat there and intend on doing so tomorrow.“

“my family and i came friday night and sat in the restaurant around 9:20pm, which was pretty close to the closing time (10pm). luckily, our server was very attentive and friendly! she got us seated right away and was helpful.

the food came out around 9:45pm, but we were able to still eat peacefully and not be rushed. we got the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer; i think it was made with cream cheese and the pita chips were warm!

the salmon was well cooked and flavorful! the broccoli had a somewhat strong garlic taste, but it was still delicious! the mac and cheese was also good, the breadcrumbs gave it a nice touch! my family also enjoyed their dishes!

overall, everything went will and the food tasted good ??️

“The service was amazing. The hostess (didn’t get her name, but her bangs were on point) was super friendly as was the door man. Our server, Gokhan, and his assistant were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and were great at anticipating our needs. They noticed what we needed before we even knew we needed it.

The NY was cooked perfectly. The Brussels spouts and mashed potatoes were rich and flavorful. Make sure you ask about the portion sizes of the sides! The mashed potatoes were enough for one, but the sprouts were enough for three people.

The ambience is really cool. Very comfortable seating. Also some really cool seats with a great view and Juniper Street and such. Keep in mind that it is a hookah bar as well. So it will smell like hookah smoke when you go in.

This was my first time going, and I will absolutely be back the next time I am craving a good steak.“

“Enjoyed my time here at the start of the bar crawl. The space was not very big for the event, but as people were transitioning in and out it all worked out. There are two bars here separated by a short wall. Then, another area on the side where you can place food orders. You had a direct view into the kitchen from this area. It was a little more quiet over there; at least out of the way of the larger crowd. We had a chicken sandwich (that tasted like fish because of the tartar sauce) and a breakfast quesadilla. That quesadilla was everything. It was flaky and cooked to perfection. It could have used a little seasoning, but it wasn’t bad at all. The mimosas were good too. My favorite was the cranberry. The other two flavors didn’t taste flavored at all; just like champagne. The bartenders were so nice and they worked fast. The young lady serving food was nice too; and they had her serving all those people alone. She stayed poised the e tire time. There is a parking lot right outside the building, but it’s not very big. Street parking is available though. The restrooms here were super cute and super clean. I’d go back here sometime.“

“I love Johnny’s hideaway! It’s so fun but the weekends call for busy nights. Lines can get long so ask a bouncer for the evenings table prices to skip the line. If you’re with a group it’s worth it for sure. The food is amazing and the drinks are strong! Music is great and everyone will be dancing so don’t be embarrassed to show off your best moves.
