“The River Bar is a terrific lobby option at The Cloisters Sea Island. The friendly professional staff greets you at the host stand and at the bar. We enjoyed a quick burger and beer our first night at the resort. We especially loved their three appetizer bowl with pickled beans, and two bowls of peanut. The bar area also has ample tables and a gorgeous dining room with a roaring fireplace. Very posh decor.

“I had the most exceptional experience here. Did you know someone on the Island makes their chocolate? Our chef was incredible. The meat was perfectly cooked, The sauces better than I have had in flavor and delivery. The wine is superb in selection. The decor is hands down some of the most beautiful atmosphere I have ever been in. If you can get in, you must have dessert! You cannot get this chocolate anywhere else.”

“Great night, great food, Harrison our waiter, and all his coworkers were exceptional! We had a great seat by the beautiful fireplace, and the beer is fabulous! The Blueberry was my favorite! The potatoe ship skillet, Brussels sprouts, beet hummus and veggies, stuffed pretzel , and Caesar salad were awesome! Can’t wait to go back !”

“I had a great experience at Coastal Grill, it is kind of hard to find, hidden behind Holiday Inn. We ordered the crab cake, fish and spicy chicken tacos, pretzel, and pizza. The crab cake burger was good, and the spicy chicken taco was also pretty good but the fish taco was lacking some flavor and was kind of dry. The pretzel was also good, it comes with 2 cheese dips, and the pizza was very cheesy.?”

“My daughter and I ate lunch here a little over a week ago. The food was Amazing!!! There is a reason for all of the great reviews! It’s a little pricey but you are on SSI so that’s no surprise. The food quality was worth the splurge. I had the large Mediterranean bowl with grilled chicken and my daughter had the small sea salt salad with blackened chicken. I loved my meal and so did she. We paid $46.10 for both meals and two drinks. We left full! I would definitely go back again when I get the chance.”

“Our second trip to GSG was not as pleasant as the first. Our table was plagued with several flies that harassed us our entire meal, I actually dispatched an ant crawling on the table too. Our smoked fish dip appetizer was extremely “fishy” like it was made with mullet or something. It was not good. We each tried one taste and left it alone. The crab stew was great. My triple tail special was great. My daughter’s bacon poached salmon was supposed to be prepared medium, but it was rare…very. So, I wound up trading her a portion of my dinner so she would not have to eat almost raw fish. Overall, I expected much more consistent greatness given the difficulty we have had obtaining a reservation. Disappointed”

“We just had an amazing meal and Jason the manager was amazing! They were so friendly, food was quality, and not only fresh but delicious! All around a great restaurant and I recommend as a must visit if you’re in the area.”
