“My husband and I stayed at the Cloister. The property was stunning, the staff was professional and courteous, and our room was beautiful and very clean. Sadly, the restaurant, The Georgian, paled in comparison to other experiences on property. Our co-waiter, Willie, was attentive, courteous, and professional. He went out of his way to ensure a pleasant experience. Our main waiter (whose name I will omit to be considerate) was not what one would expect at a 5-star resort dining experience. The food.... disappointing. Bland flavor and poor quality,not commensurate with the Sea Island reputation. We expected a culinary and service experience similar to what we consistently receive at Ritz Carlton Salt restaurant. Absolutely recommend the property, just not that particular restaurant; discriminating culinary patrons will be disappointed.“

“This ice cream is soooo good! Stopped in all three days of our stay in St. Simons (I really like ice cream) and tried two different flavors each time and loved all of them. Stand outs were Insta-graham (maybe the best ice cream I have ever had!) and any of the house churned, which was smooth, creamy and the flavors were amazing. I really loved the Lavender Honey; I appreciated that they had so many unique options in the house churned section - every day I went there were new flavors to try. Someone different helped us each time and they were all really kind and very helpful, making the experience even more pleasant. Lots of places to sit, including a cozy, shaded area. Easy to walk to from just about anywhere on the island. I highly recommend this lovely little place!“

“This is a great little shop in a historic building. We had such a fun time picking out many, many different sweets to try. The giant buckeyes are the best I’ve ever had. The fudge is fantastic. Great place for gifts too.“

“So today I took my two very young kids to a candy store ( the sugar shack) for the first time in their lives . My son wanted everything and began having a meltdown . I was overwhelmed and honestly didn’t have money for everything they wanted but did buy them some things and a very kind lady Mrs . Emma saw my son melting down and offered him a little rubber duck and free Ice cream . THAT WAS SO KIND OF HER ! We had sherbet ice cream which was delicious and by the time we left the store my son was happy waving bye bye to her . She was so sweet so happy so kind anytime I am ever here visiting my sister I will bring the kids and give them our business they earned it the candy and Ice cream were delicious but the best part was how wonderful she was to my kids !
