“Great service, really fun people. We mainly go for the karaoke and atmosphere. Unfortunately tho, the DJ either moves songs down or lets other people do it so you will probably end up leaving before getting to sing your song. Not really fair“

“Our small gathering on the 6th of December was heavenly. This young lady was sweating and smiling so I had to photo her. The overall experience was great with Service and the Atmosphere was breath taking. The food was exceptional except the desserts were a little dis tasteful, but, I had eaten so much it could be my palate. “My friend girl brought me to this restaurant for my birthday. I had the turkey ribs, collards, yams and Mac and cheese and the bread pudding, we even tried the fried green tomato,she had the turkey wings. OH ! My gosh the food was sooo, ( never heard of nor had a turkey ribs) it was so tender and the sauce was point on. I don't mind paying a good piece if the service and food is great. When I left this restaurant I took a picture and posted on Facebook, telling everybody I know about this fabulous time at this place and they got to try it out. The service, and my waiter was a 10 .plus“

“We were in town from Michigan for our daughter's graduation. An Uber driver told us about this little bar. We wanted to watch the Michigan State game for March Madness, and they turn the TVs right over. They had karaoke, but it was not super loud. Just a really nice little hole in the wall bar.“

“I visited SM44 ATL for Mother’s Day and overall I’d give the food about a 3.5/5 stars. The experience wasn’t bad, but a few things felt like they were missing something special.

I had the oysters topped with crawfish, and honestly that combination didn’t really work for me. My sea bass was good, although I think it would’ve been even better if it wasn’t served as such a fillet that was randomly placed on the plate. I substituted one of my sides for Brussels sprouts — the flavor was okay, but they definitely could’ve been crispier.

The lobster mac & cheese was good too, but I expected it to be a little creamier. The fettuccine was flavorful and they were very generous with the Parmesan cheese. Someone at the table ordered the crispy chicken over grits, but I didn’t personally taste it.

My martini was decent, but if you’re going to garnish drinks with fruit, it should be fresh. The fruit on top looked soggy and was falling apart.

Presentation overall was nice, although the mac & cheese presentation felt a little too casual for what seems to be aiming for an upscale/elegant dining experience. The atmosphere itself was interesting — more like a bar with dinner tables than a true fine dining vibe.

Overall, not terrible, but for the price and aesthetic, I expected a little more refinement in both flavor and presentation.“

They have several TVs so I am able catch up on news and sports while I am there.

“I work late at night, so I’m always looking for somewhere new that’s open late. THIS IS THE ONE!!! Great atmosphere, great customer service, $5 drink specials, and the wings were absolutely delicious!!! I love breaded party wings. They were just right with the right amount of crisp and flavor. I’ll be back with no hesitation. Prices are very reasonable, can’t wait to try different things on the menu.“

“The establishment itself is ok. Vintage. Nostalgic. Music is fine and the crowd can be hit or miss. Never ordered food here because I am either too busy trying to dance or dodging the insane amount of creepy and aggressive guys here. Drinks are cheap and strong, perhaps that fuels the issue of the sort of patrons that frequent this place.

I am leaving 5 stars SOLELY for our bartender, Natasha. SHE deserves way more than 5 stars and makes the place look good. She was so attentive and managed to serve the sea of people around the bar efficiently and gracefully. But aside from the top notch service, she immediately clocked what could’ve escalated into a dangerous situation and intervened.

As stated before, the men here have a reputation and many live up to it. They fall somewhere on the spectrum of sloppy and irritating to absolute animals. And in my experience, out of all the places I’ve had a night out in ATL, this is one of the places where it is particularly bad. Like JH is their gathering place or something, I don’t know. But when faced with a man who was being extremely pushy and not respecting my wish to get away from me, Natasha immediately stepped in to back me up without me even asking! This guy was gross and belligerent and getting angry that he was being asked to step away, as if he was being blocked from engaging with someone who was willing to interact with him. I was not. And when he wouldn’t step away, Natasha flagged security to get him out. And thank god for that. We were able to enjoy the rest of the night and we appreciated the tone it sets for the patrons.

Would also like to shout out security for being the muscle. But between Natasha and enforcement, patrons are aware that there is someone there to help them if needed. And hopefully it serves as a deterrent for anyone who may get out of line.“
