About Talking Rock Brewery

Talking Rock Brewery is a unique restaurant located in a small town just off Highway 5, north of Jasper, and only an hour's drive from the North Fulton area. It is one of two craft breweries in the nation located in a train car, offering a variety of beer types to choose from. The ambiance is relaxed and fun, making it a great place to hang out with friends and family, including pets. The atmosphere is the best part, and there's live music often. It's a cute spot to spend a couple of hours and get some food next door at the Boxcar Grill.

The brewery has both indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered outdoor space and an open area with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for chilly days. The train car where the beer is brewed also serves as the ordering area. The beer selection is diverse and not solely focused on IPAs or hoppy beers. Prices are reasonable, and the steam engine seltzer is a popular choice. The bartender was really friendly, and the sampler was a great way to try different beers. The laid-back atmosphere with games and a social vibe makes it a fun place to hang out. It is a worthwhile side trip when visiting the North Georgia mountains, providing a refreshing alternative to crowded spaces. The brewery is currently expanding and renovating another rail car for a restaurant space.
