“Went here with a couple friends for the first time and it is fairly expensive, looking at the prices, luckily the lead of the bridal party was paying since she made the reservation, otherwise this is one place I wouldn't have been able to touch for a while. As for the food, it's good. It's just your simple hot pot, we went for the basic ichiriki soup base with the PorkZilla Nabe.“

“Aunty and her employees are always so nice and welcoming. As the face of the restaurant, she doesn't disappoint with her constant smile and infectious laughter.
The restaurant has converted to an AYCE menu wich is reasonably priced and they kept their more famous appetizers on the menu as well.
Can't forget to save room for that shaved ice at the end!“

“The other Ichiriki is better.
But! If you are at Ala Moana and want hot pot, this is a good spot within walking distance. It has good food that is well worth the visit. The service and atmosphere is ... well ... Lacking. If you don't mind putting up with that and want to focus on the food and table camp a bit then here is a spot for you.
They offer limited Japanese style sitting for those that want the full experience of sitting on the floor. Be prepared to take your shoes off.
Clean socks, shoes and feet, people! Because no one wants smell your dirty toes while they are eating. I shouldn't have to say that but this world is full of all types.
The broth was flavorful and tasty with a large variety to choose from. The desserts were good so save room.
Or eat until you want to explode then go walk it off at the mall. Then pack in the sweets, Your choice.
Overall it was a lovely experience, that I would share with anyone that I care about.

“It was the perfect rainy day to have shabu-shabu, and Mikiya did not disappoint. We chose the Silver Wagyu set, and the quality of the meat was really impressive. We tried all the different wagyu selections included, and every single one was so good, tender, flavorful, and high quality.
We also ordered the wagyu nigiri and wagyu tartare. The wagyu nigiri was my favorite, it literally melts in your mouth. So rich and buttery.
The set also comes with vegetables and seafood. Unfortunately, the oyster wasn’t available that day, which made me a little sad, but overall everything else was great.
As for the service, I understand they had just opened when we came in, but it did take quite a while for someone to assist us. It wasn’t busy, and we had to stand up just to get their attention since most of the staff were in the kitchen. I hope service improves over time because the food quality is definitely there.
This spot is definitely on the fancier side for shabu-shabu.“

“Hands down the best Japanese BBQ on the island! We’ve tried many Yakiniku both in Hawaii and LA but this was by far the best quality! Not only the quality of the meat but the service was excellent. You know when the vibe, food, and the people are good, it’s the best experience you can get. Highly recommend this place to try!

“I've never had shabushabu before and it was amazing! So many choices of everything! It's buffet and ridiculously delicious. So much food and so healthy too. Good idea to go for lunch because it's cheaper than dinner. And they were so kind to let me and my friend sit as long as we wanted. The service was wonder. I will definitely be back!“

“The food quality here is exceptional — everything tasted fresh, clean, and carefully prepared. The tempura came out perfectly crisp, the sides were balanced and flavorful, and the matcha dessert was a standout: smooth, refreshing, and beautifully presented with fresh fruit.
Service was quick, friendly, and professional. The staff made the experience easy and enjoyable, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming — perfect for a mid-day meal.

“Nicely decorated izakaya at City Market Plaza. We tried its signature lunch omakase with Wagyu beef, veggies, ramen, tofu and veggies. It also came with green tea and a mochi dessert. The meat was very good and veggies were fresh, but the beef based soup was the winner. The service was excellent and friendly. We will come back to try its other dishes. Note: this place is one of the only eateries that closes after lunch period is over and reopens later for dinner.
Update Dec 2025: it’s been a while since we’d dined here. W tried its Kamaaina special , which was chopped up ribeye with rice. It was tasty as other dishes we had here. The service was friendly as before. There’s a $20 AYCE hotpot deal that looked good as well. Maybe next time.“
