“Go here instead of the big chains - support small local shops!
Omg how have I driven past this place for the past 10 years and never stopped by?? This little hole in the wall poke shop has one of the best shoyu poke I’ve ever tried! I also really enjoyed their other flavors that I’ve tried so far - spicy masago (mmm!) & spicy ahi (more sesame oil forward, not my preference but still really good!)
No seating inside - just a quick in-and-out go type of place. Good for bringing dinner home or a poke run before going to the beach. Parking is a little tight in front of the shop, but there’s street parking by the park near by.“

“Food was authentic tasting Japanese food. Greeted when I got there. Tables were clean. The parking lot is good sized and I found an open stall right away. Most customers seemed like they lived close by since they arrived by foot and not by car. Price was reasonable. The reason for the 5 stars is that my elderly parents loved the food. My mom is a picky eater.“

“Their portions are worth more than 5.00. Food and smoothies are delicious. Their dole pineapple whip is better than Dole Plantation. The staff at Ward/Kewalo basin are friendly and professional.“

“Located right next to the Tapa Pool at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, this food stand was super convenient whenever the kids got hungry, so we ended up grabbing food here three or four times during our stay.
There was only one kids’ menu option—the octopus rice (#88)—but all of the tuna dishes we tried were delicious as well. Since my kids are still young, I played it safe and only let them eat the cooked octopus, not the raw fish.
The acai bowl was pretty good too. Overall, it was much more convenient than I expected, which is probably why we kept coming back.“

“Ah what a gem. Just randomly found this place on my way back to Waikiki.
I got the Hawaiian plate. The Lau Lau was so tender and flavorful. It’s probably one of the best ones I’ve had.
The saimin was also perfectly flavorful and comforting.
I want to go back try other dishes now!
It’s a small place but there are about 2-3 tables that you can also sit and eat. It’s cash only.“

“I arrived at 11 am and they were already sold out on all their food except for the beef stew, so I bought the beef stew with once scoop of rice and macaroni salad and green salad, which came to $11. The server was very nice in explaining about what she got left and she gave so much that I was barely able to finish and the food was very good. This is a definitely a hidden cheap eats gem in Waipahu.“

“I been here three times now and every visit have been great experiences regardless of the store being busy. The sweet and kind front lady took my order when she could and handed off my order. I tried their Chicken Katsu, Chicken Sandwhich, and their Garlic Steak plate. All of which were amazing because they were all juicy and wonderfully cooked! Highly recommend a visit and maybe you'll enjoy their delicious meal for such an amazing price too!“

“Quite possibly the best tasting steak I have had in a very long time… and I frequent steak houses back home in AZ. This was delicious and fast service. Presentation of food looks just like the display case. Food was just under $30 but it was enough food for my husband and I to share.“

“This place is delish! I get the lechon with double pancit and its enough food for 2 (but everyone wants thier own!) The pancit is the best I have ever had, full of veggies, meat and flavors! The lechon was crispy on the outside, flavorful and juicy inside and cut fresh to order with a tomato and onion slaw that balances all the flavors. An order of the made to order lumpia was the perfect companion. And I can't leave without a kalamansi tea! It's like an Arnold Palmer but perfectly balanced. They have tons of other food that I need to try, but passing up my regular is too hard!“

“I recently visited WAT GET KITCHEN, and it turned out to be a solid local spot for comforting plate lunch–style food in the Waipahu area. Tucked into a neighborhood location along Hikimoe Street, the restaurant has the kind of casual, community-centered atmosphere that you often find in long-standing local eateries across Oahu. The space is simple and practical, with the focus clearly on serving hearty meals rather than creating a formal dining environment.
The menu centers around familiar local favorites that reflect the multicultural influences of Hawaii’s food culture. Plate lunches, fried rice, noodle dishes, and grilled meats make up much of the selection, offering satisfying portions and bold flavors. The dishes emphasize savory seasoning and generous serving sizes, which are typical of neighborhood plate lunch establishments. The meats were well seasoned and paired with rice and sides that help create a balanced and filling meal.
One of the strengths of WAT GET KITCHEN is the sense of authenticity in the food. The flavors feel rooted in everyday local cooking rather than overly stylized interpretations. Dishes arrive quickly and focus on delivering comfort and satisfaction. While the presentation is simple, the food carries the familiar taste profiles that many residents expect from local-style kitchens.
Service during the visit was friendly and efficient. Orders were prepared at a steady pace, and the staff maintained a welcoming attitude toward customers. The overall experience felt relaxed and straightforward, which fits the style of the restaurant and the expectations of diners looking for a quick, satisfying meal.
The atmosphere reflects the role of the restaurant as a neighborhood gathering place. It is the kind of spot where regulars return often for dependable food and a familiar environment. That sense of community presence adds to the appeal and reinforces its identity as a local favorite.
Overall, WAT GET KITCHEN delivers a dependable and satisfying plate lunch experience with hearty portions, bold local flavors, and friendly service. It may not aim for culinary refinement, but it succeeds at providing comforting meals that reflect the everyday food culture of Hawaii.“

“I come to the place every chance I get. I love their tofu, fried fish, chow fun, long rice, shoyu chicken, etc. You should judge for yourself. Unfortunately, they are only open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. They close when they run out. Also, their prices, compared to other okazu-ya places are very low. I've been going there for decades. Check um out 🤙🏽“
“I ordered the food and took around 10-15min. Very helpful. However because it is a Korean couple running it, they make everything fresh! I got the bulgolgi sandwich which was very tasty! I would definitely go back! It was around 14 dollars.“
“Everyone is helpful and eager to answer your questions any time of the hours. Thanks for Times for being so near to my place I can save gas!“
