“We arrived at 4:45pm on a Monday and the restaurant was nearly full- a great sign. We were seated at a table for two and waited on promptly. The menu is extensive but we found an appetizer and two entrees and placed our order relatively quickly. Staff was friendly, efficient and our meals: pad tai, roasted eggplant and Tom ka with chicken, were all excellent. Highly recommend!“

“We enjoyed this place so much we dined here 3x! It’s that good! If you see anything on a Thai menu for papaya salad and it has an option of Lao Style -pick it! So good! All of the food was tasty and of course we were pleasantly surprised to learn the owner is Lao! She and her husband were very nice and friendly as is all of the staff. It’s located right in front of the ocean view-so it’s nice to enjoy dinner and a refreshing cocktail while watching that beautiful sunset.“

“Love the variety of curries here (most Thai restaurants have only green, yellow and red.) My husband and I enjoy the Masssaman curry- a deep and sweet flavor with potatoes and onions and peanuts. We tried the Panang Curry today, reminds of Thom Kha soup because of those fragrant lime leaves (see pic). Will try local fruit curries next time.Thom Kha soup here is okay (the Royal Thai in Keauhou Shopping mall is much more flavorful and more generous with meat portion. Also, the Thom Kha in Waimea at Parker Ranch mall best overall on island in our opinion on soup, just FYI.)The atmosphere is clean, sweet staff, nice decor. Would recommend curries here for sure. Oh, and the "wingers" (little chicken wings fried perfectly and seasoned tastefully) were excellent here. We tried the chicken satay last time, also good, but we are best connoisseurs of Thom Kha, heh.Expect to pay around $20 per curry (unless lunch weekday special ) We appreciate ability to upgrade to sticky rice instead of jasmine here at Krua, also. Bit of an upcharge ($2) but worth it for the texture- almost like dessert for us. (Yah, yah we know it ain't as nutritious but desserts rarely are.) Overall, great restaurant to try, within easy walking distance to Kailua Pier.Wheelchair accessibility: Kinda accessible, stairs to front entrance, and another entrance ramp (minimum incline) on other side which is good, but! There is always somebody parked in ramp exit path to parking area north side and the parking stop curbs on west ramp area are tight, some wheelchairs too wide for east access, just FYI. See photos to judge for yourself and your own needs.“

“I ordered a to-go order at the counter from Gabby who was showering everyone who approached her with kindness and attentiveness! She recommended the yellow curry fried rice (choices of protein include: pork, chicken, beef, etc) But at the last second I saw the Sambal Beef and plunged. The result was now I have a new favorite Thai restaurant! Thank you Gabby for your service and for walking the order out to us while we waited for our movie to start!“

“Great breakfast once again on our last day at the Kona Royal Resort. Service was fast. Food was delicious and nicely proportioned. Nothing beats sitting next to the ocean with a fresh cup of coffee and good eats. My son had the French toast. 2 thumbs up. I had the açaí bowl. Delicious. Side of bacon was generous. No complaints except we had to leave.“

“I get a lot of take out food from here. Good portions. Fair prices. Friendly service. Not a long wait time even when they are busy. My favorites are the Pahd woo sen, Pahd Thai, Green Curry, Tom Kah, and the Green Papaya salad. Cute little place upstairs right on the strip.“

“This is my favorite Thai place in Captain Cook, my neighborhood, and is better than any in Kailua-Kona except Thai Rin. The vegatables are fresh and always crispy in every dish I've had. Prices are good. Photo shown is half of an order of Kee Mow rice noodle with vegetables. I was so hungry I forgot to take the picture:) For addinng shrimp at $2, I got 5 shrimps. I am always pleased with her (the owner's) cooking. My other favorite is Tom Kar soup. The coconut cream she uses is very rich and creamy. It is a take-out place wtih some tables outside in the courtyard of Kealakekua Ranch Center.“
