“UPDATED:I've been to Zippy's quite a few times since my last review, but it's always for the breakfast plates. We usually order through the app for pick-up and enjoy our breakfast plates on the beach. The orders are on time and I don't think we've gotten an incorrect order yet. My go-to is the bento with rice, eggs, Portuguese sausage, and either bacon or corned beef hash. My new favorite is their chili. A side of their chili with the breakfast bento is *chef's kiss*. Next time, I think I'll try the chili moco.—————-Zippy's Ewa is a fast food chain that specializes in Hawaiian food. You'll find your spam musubis, loco mocos, and saimin. If local isn't your taste, they've also got burgers and chili so I'm sure you can find something here to suit you. The catch is that it's not that good, but you also shouldn't expect it to be. I ordered the fried saimin, which was supposed to come with spam, but it was mainly just noodles. My stomach started feeling weird a few hours later so I'm not sure if it was the Zippy's, something else I ate, or just the result of being over-tired from the weekend. Either way, I think I'm okay with the Zippy's. The only thing I MIGHT order again is the chili. But as for local food or burgers, there are ton's of better options.“
“Incredible food and friendly service. I cannot impress thru words how awesome Chelsea is. She went thru the entire menu and spoke on any dish I asked about. This is our second time as the first time was take out and the food was incredible. I dined in for breakfast and the food was incredible again. We moved here from Europe a few years ago and really appreciate the healthy style of cooking they do versus the normal sugar / salt / fat / fried food. All I have to say is come and just come and try it. It is great.Finding Sweet Corner Cafe is a little tricker. It is down the inclined drive and in the basement of the building off the street. There is a vertical banner with a Lucky Cat at the top of the drive by the street. I just parked on the street and walked down the incline to the entrance on the side of the building. There was a cat (Biggie) hanging out by the door and Sweet Corner Cafe is just down the hall with a sign above the door.“
“Got two mixed plates so got to try the smoked meat, smoked chicken, hamburger steak, and chili. All the smoked items were definitely the highlight. I didn't care much for the chili and the hamburger steak. The chilis flavors were not the best and I definitely prefer brown gravy for my hamburger steak. I'd come back again but will definitely just get more smoked items - if it's in the name of the restaurant, stick to those items.“

“Been meaning to try Guava Smoked. The restaurant itself is small. Drive-inn vibes with a few tables in the small space at Downtown Pearlridge. The person at the counter seemed like they were the owner and were very friendly. Ordered a mix plate with boneless chicken thighs and pork with mac salad and smoked fried rice. Also ordered the smoked salmon belly bowl. Prices were very reasonable. Our order came out quickly, and served to our table. The meat was very tender and tasty. Great smoke flavor but not overpowering. The fried rice was really really good, and the amount of meat chunks included in the rice was almost a 3rd choice. Smoked salmon belly was also really good. Mac salad was ok on its own but worked well mixed in with bites of meat/rice. Would definitely come back here. I've been missing out. My only wish is they had actual bbq sauce too instead of sambal and chili water.“
“We're tourists who were just looking for a place that wasn't touristy to watch a game. This was perfect! Prices are reasonable, and service was good. Parking lot is small, but there weren't many people (midafternoon on a Sunday) so it wasn't an issue. Kalua pork nachos were delicious!“
“I haven't been here in years. And it is exactly as I remember it. The weight is short don't let the line overwhelm you. The food is great. The only negative that I experience was the flies were flying on the ketchup bottle and the Shoyu bottles. A few times the fly landed on my husband's water cup. Plus the type of music they play was a very disturbing.“
“First experience at Zippys last night fir dinner and we really enjoyed it. We ordered at the counter and chose to eat in. We chose a Zip Pack Deluxe which includes chili, mac salad with golden fried chicken, crispy breaded white flaky fish filet, tender teriyaki marinated beef, and Spam®, on a bed of rice topped with classic Japanese takuan pickled radish and furikake seasoning ($18.60) and also ordered a mini Loco Moco- An iconic Hawaii dish invented by hungry Hilo teenagers. A juicy hamburger patty atop a bed of rice, smothered with brown gravy and topped with two eggs. Served with mac salad($11.30). We shared both entrees and if this sounds like a huge amount of food…it is. The Zip Pack Deluxe we could have shared without ordering anything else and we would have left quite full. The fish and chicken were really good and the teriyaki beef was a little chewy but good flavor. The macaroni salad is really good and the chili tasted great too.The Loco Moco was probably our favorite dish. The brown gravy with the rice and hamburger Patty were very tasty and reminded us of Salisbury steak we used to eat at home. We will definitely order this dish again and we chose to have our eggs scrambled.We will return to Zippys and can recommend it if you are visiting and there is one neat by. We wanted to try a local restaurant and this one is a good one to experience. It appears that they have a table service section too. We didn’t realize this until after we ordered at the counter.“
“I really love this place. The people are super friendly & helpful. The selection is awesome for people who love Filipino delicacies. It's like being in the Philippines. They have baka skin, kilawen kaldeng, kilawen baka, bulalo which consists of baka skin & delicious rich slightly creamy bone broth. Mmm delicious ! They also have a lot of breakfast selections which I need to go back & try. They have pancit too. Prices are average. There's a small dining area inside the shop. You'll see their food truck first when you arrive. They prefer cash but do accept card. “Amazing Service! I placed a mobile order to go on March19 for the Korean Fried Chicken plate. Upon receiving my food, It was unfortunate to find the chicken undercooked. I went ahead and called the restaurant to let them know what happened, the manager Marilyn sincerely apologize for the issue and asked if I'm able to come back to the restaurant to get a new plate. Upon arriving back at the restaurant, Marilyn apologized again. When she gave me my food, she showed me my plate just to be sure everything was to my satisfaction. “One thing is for sure, whenever you step into a Zippy's restaurant, no matter which location you go to, I can pretty much guarantee you'll get consistent "local style" comfort grindages! My latest adventures to Zippy's were in Kalihi, as I took my coworker here. I swar, my coworker is Zippy's "numba #1" FAN, and I would be surprised if there was a picture of him if there ever was a "Zippy's hall of fame", for loyal customers! Lol! The Kalihi location of Zippy's is an enclosed take out joint. No table service, you order your food at the ordering counter, when your food is ready, they will call your number. You pick up your food order at the counter, then you look for a place to sit & eat within the restaurant (if you want to eat it right away). I have a lot of favorites at Zippy's, but what really stands out for me is the - Zip Pack, Surf Pack, Chili (regular or vegetarian), Turkey Neck Soup, Oxtail Soup, & da Frrrrrrried Chicken! For dessert, it's the Apple Napples, & of course da Strawberry Cream Cheese Square! Yum!!! Over the years, Zippy's food has gone up quite a bit, but like most eateries, I guess raising prices is needed in order to survive. This takeout location is clean, and free parking is available in the back of the restaurant. Support local, and ya can't go wrong with local style comfort food!“
“Breakfast stop here since it was the closest Zippy's to our hotel. Service was good and the food was good. Only issue was the restaurant was a bit dirty. Corners of the seats being dusty and tables had small bits of trash here and there. I'm not expecting it to be immaculate but it could have been a bit cleaner being that it did just open at the time we had arrived. No issues with the food. It was good and we all enjoyed it. Zippy's is always a convenient stop for quick food and our food came out quick.“
“Today I placed a large order of about 25 plates for our Union Meeting at the Pearl City location-806 Kamehameha Hwy. The person who took the order did an excellent job with no errors. They had my order ready in less than 30 minutes. I wanted to give an extra commendation to Somphone. First, she greeted me so warmly! She double checked my order, took my Bakery order, and helped me to my car! I had to return to add to the order and she helped me again. Somphone needs to given an award or a certificate! I received excellent service!“
