If you want cheap and easy local food this is the place to pick. Wasn’t expecting much based on how it looked, but if you have a buzz and you want some good comfort food the loco moco is legit!
This was my second L&L meal on Kauai. My first was in Waimea. Food taste and quality was like comparing apples to oranges. This Hanalei spot was not too good. The fried items were too hard. The katsu was so thin that it was like trying to bite through a hockey puck. Everything was super salty as well. Best items we had was the bbq beef, spam musubi and mac salad.
The Waimea location the meats were more tender and more flavorful without being overly salted.

The boba on the other hand was pretty good, very sweet. We got the taro/coconut flavor which I would recommend.
