“While exploring Hilo we stopped at Hilo Iced Coffee, which operates out of a mobile truck and feels very much like a local staple. It is casual and no-frills, but that is part of the charm.

I ordered the ube iced latte and it was easily one of the prettiest drinks I had on the trip. The purple color is vibrant and eye catching without feeling gimmicky. More importantly, it tastes as good as it looks. It was lightly sweet, well balanced, and still very much coffee forward, not overly sugary like some flavored lattes can be.

Service was quick and friendly, and it is the kind of spot that makes you slow down for a minute and just enjoy your drink. If you are on the Hilo side and want something a little different from your standard iced coffee order, the ube latte is absolutely worth trying.“

“Two locals were here during out visit letting us know this was the place to be for shaved ice. The keiki was very good sized. Don't miss the specials on the board in the back, they are special for a reason. We ordered 8 different combos. All were so good, the coconut add on for $1 is totally worth it, though opt out if you want a less rich and more refreshing version. The lady at the counter was the kindest lady with a pleasant genuine smile that never flinched while the 8 of us lined up calling out our 24 flavors and toppings. She made the whole experience that much nicer and all for under $40.“

“Has and always will be the shit when it comes to sweet cravings. Everytime I come back home to Hilo I gotta get one before I dig back to the airport. Everything from the shave ice to the ice cream and now their shakes which I gotta try are always heaping, solidly priced and taste amazing. Whether I'm taking the nieces and nephews or I just want to enjoy a craving solo this place has always been a staple and will be for you too!“

“Amazing Find in Hilo. Simple Menu. Don’t judge a book by its cover. That Double Deluxe Cheeseburger was scrumptious. I had that with a Coconut Taro Smoothie with BOBA. I’ll definitely be back. Wish we had something like this in Kona Side.“

“Stopped for a quick bite on my way back to my hotel. Building is on the side of the road with only a small sign. Recommend use GPS to help you navigate. Parking is very limited. Spaces were full when I arrived so I parked across the street in the lot for the park. Very casual place with small menu. There is a gift shop type area for local purchases and a fruit stand on site. I ordered a smoothie and pork tacos from the menu. Tacos were good. Smoothie was refreshing. Menu selection is small but with a decent amount of variety. I would recommend for a quick bite or a smoothie stop.“
