Absolutely love this quaint spot for Japanese desserts! Everything is lighter in flavor and you don't get the richness of American desserts.

The strawberry roll is about as perfect as a dessert can get. What a delicious treat on a hot day. Highly recommend this place for a treat. The owner is great too!

FINALLY stopped in this charming Cafe after seeing it on Instagram for the past year :))) Happy, happy, joy, joy!! I was able to get half a loaf of Japan white bread (so soft, so delicious), and one of each on the second shelf: the cheesecakes, the 10? layer chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, and an Americano - and then stopped... I always go crazy in Japan bakeries! I love how the Japan cheesecakes and cakes are sweetened just right - not over-sweetened like the American desserts. Cafe DeLight: your pastries are as sweet as your staff. Thank you so much for a great first experience... I will be back! :)))))

I am here at least once a week. Lomo saltado is all you need to know, but the japanese style roll cakes are so light and delicate it gets the dopamine flowing...Drools.

Cafe DeLight is one of Kaimuki's hidden gems on the lower level of the Kaimuki Shopping Center. It's a good thing their hours are so limited (tues-fri 7AM-when they're sold out, usually around noon), otherwise I wouldn't fit into my clothes, working only a block away. They have a variety of mini cake rolls , and a regular sized one for the strawberry one. Other regular pastries seem to be the Valrohna chocolate cake, tiramisu (regular and either strawberry/matcha), coffee jelly, strawberry cake with flan trifle, and cheesecake (soufflé and NY style). There's usually one or two other desserts in the case that vary from visit to visit. I've tried the milk tea cake roll and that was bomb as well as the strawberry which was also good, but not my favorite. Bought my boyfriend the chocolate cake after he mentioned how he hasn't had a good chocolate cake in a long time and he raved about it. Layers of decadent mousse alternating with moist, rich chocolate sponge. He said he heard Ed Sheeran serenading him with each bite. Croissants - plain, pain au chocolat, or breakfast with prosciutto, eggs, and a choice of Swiss or cheddar. Breakfast croissant was $6 and hands down the best. Huge, buttery, crispy on the outside - she makes her own croissants! They do run out quick in the morning, as my coworker tried to get one later. Small menu of other foods as well that I haven't tried. Seems to be a popular cafe for Sacred Heart students, and she has students helping her man the cash register sometimes. Really sweet Japanese lady and comfy, but limited, seating. Also offers a pretty basic coffee menu, which is cheaper than getting it from say The Curb if you're just looking for something simple to wake you up.

Long holiday again! Thanksgiving, Christmas/new year... when I can visit them, they're closed. When are they open?! Croissants are great, if you manage to go there when they are open. So, only 3 stars. Please work.

OK, so I finally got to try the Lomo Saltado. First off, this seems like a hobby business because it closes at noon. They seem to cater to Japanese nationals who have relocated to Hawaii. All the pastry items are reefered, and appeal to those types that like how stuff looks, rather than only how it tastes. Maybe it tastes good but I didn't try any pastry. I'm not one of those guys who sips his tea with pinkies up. You order at the counter, and there is a 6-top table with seats. There are a couple separate benches on the Ewa side wall. A little cramped but cozy. Reminds me of when you sit on the throne in your Japanese business hotel toi-re, that you can touch all 4 walls around you. The owner was busy slaving away in the back, and another woman was "manning" the counter. In the span of about 10 minutes while I was there, four other parties came and went. They all seemed like regulars. But really, who else but regulars or Yelpers with ties to Latin America or Japan would even be there. Not your regular Times or Longs shoppers. In fact one older woman was probably a friend of the owner, because she would slide the door open and closed for entrants and exiters. Unexpected service. Anyway, the Lomo Saltado is exactly like local chopped steak except for 2 differences. First, the sliced beef steak, onions, and tomatoes were sauteed with French fries. Yes, the FF were integrated into the mix. Not unpleasant but a little strange for local tastes. Second, instead of being sauteed in a shoyu-based sauce, it tasted more like the liquid from chili con carne. Cumin was the strong flavor note but if you moistened your rice with the sauce, it tasted just like Schilling or McCormick packaged chili mix. Ok, maybe a little better. I could taste a little garlic and ground chili powder, no heat. All in all, not bad, but being a local boy who grew up eating sweet shoyu flavored chopped steak, that is what I prefer. With rice. Not rice and French fries.

The espresso was great. I'm told they get their beans from the Big Island, and it has a strong and refreshing taste. I'd also recommend their puddings, they're sweet and delectable.

I looove this place! I come fairly often to grab coffee and desserts. The owner and worker are super sweet and the food (they even serve breakfast/lunch specials) taste amazing. The kids love the strawberry rolls, cheesecake and flan. Everything is packaged nicely and the place is very clean. Small and quaint cafe (6-8 seats), perfect to grab a drink and relax.

LOVE this cute little coffee shop!! Ordered the croissant sandwich- oh yum yum! Also had the little Strawberry pound cake - oh my that was also yum! The owner bakes everything fresh daily and is open until she sells out which is usually by noon. Coffee is also delicious

Small little cafe downstairs in the Kaimuki Shopping Center. It's a tiny place with 3 tables for seating and you're literally sitting next to the other patrons. While it's small, it's is BIG on taste! We loved the croissant sandwiches and the fruit rolls which were super soft and not overly sweet. I had the lomo saltado which was kind of a stir fry stew with rice. It was super tasty and there was a lot. The meat was a bit overdone for my taste- I like my meat more on the rare softer side. The overall feel was very friendly. Everyone there that day were Japanese ( as is the owner). Everybody was so welcoming. Really recommend trying this place

OMG - this time the dessert offering was the bomb! ...along with my favorite Peruvian dish - LOMO SALTADO! You need to come early for this dish of hearty beef sirloin, onions, peppers and a superb sauce you just want to pour over your rice and enjoy the flavors! This place now has a couple of Peruvian dishes to choose from on the menu - but I still always go with my LOMO! And the Super light croissant with light sweet cream smothered over fresh strawberries? To die for....so decadent and rich. Big enough for two to feed each other!!! AND the white rice here is heavenly. They must let it soak or something because it is special. And I normally opt for brown rice but this white, well, white here is right here! Come early - they run out and then they close for the day.
