We came in near closing time on a Friday and were the only ones in the entire restaurant, which was surprising because the food was so good. All the smoked meats we tried were excellent—short ribs, chicken, and pork were all flavorful and tender. The macaroni salad was also a standout. This is a must-try spot if you’re craving Hawaiian food and prefer a more relaxed, low-key setting without the crowds.
This is a low-key, modest spot tucked away from the main tourist areas—you’ll mostly see locals here, which is always a good sign. I really enjoyed the food; it’s the simple, but good kind of meal you’ll remember having in Hawaii.
The loco moco is legit and definitely worth trying. I’d recommend pairing it with one of their smoked meats—together, it’s an unbeatable combo.
