I have loved this place since I was a child, nothing has changed, just the owners, but still the best people! I eat here at least 3 times while I'm home!

1st time trying this place, was planning to have wonton noodle soup wherever we ended up today. Located conveniently in Chinese Cultural Plaza but on outer side facing river walk towards Royal Kitchen, not in our usual path. A variety of noodle choices. I stuck w/ usual egg noodles w/ wonton (wun tun) soup. My wife got Lai fun beef stew, daughter egg noodle w/ beef tendon & wonton combo. The good part was that the wontons were very tasty, flavorful, meaty w/ pork & shrimp combo, at least 8 served (I didn't count). Egg noodles seemed fresh. Chinese broccoli nicely blanched but not as tender or tasty. Broth very light. So if you're conscious of limiting your salt/sodium intake, this is the place for you. If you prefer very subtly flavored broth, go here. However, I prefer broth that fills your soul with healing goodness, one that replenishes your health level to 140%. Quantity of noodles & wontons are decent, the the amount of broth also leaves you a bit wanting. To be honest, the broth is on par with the frozen shrimp wonton noodle soup found in Costco - great for a late night snack, but not sending you to a higher plane of existence. The bowls are also similar to that of Costco's except larger (smaller than real bowls in other restaurants), and more convenient for takeout obviously. Therefore, not picture-worthy. Same with the other 2 orders with regards to the broth: bland. Tendons were super tender though, highly enjoyable according to my daughter. But broth wasn't worth finishing. Beef also flavorful but could be more tender. My wife had to add quite a bit of soy sauce, hot sauce etc to have any taste, left most of broth in bowl. I had some, can't imagine what it (didn't) taste like beforehand. Lai fun also very slippery, which didn't bother me since I simply slurped it from the bowl. But it was near impossible for me wife to eat with chopsticks or soup spoon. Lai fun also completely tasteless (but I thought the texture was good). Price was ok - on par with everything else, which would have been star-worthy if matched other wonton noodle soups, but overall fell a bit short. Place is clean too.

If you are in the downtown area and are not uptight with the cultured scenery, stop by Hong Kong Noodle House, located on the first floor of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza. Garage parking is paid by the hour, and is plentiful. It's unfortunate that this once busy plaza has turned into a ghost town, but thankfully the restaurants who were thriving pre-Covid are still hanging around. Hong Kong Noodle House is known for their fresh noodles, dumplings, and meats that are roasted in house. Most items we've tried were delectable, and their broth was something different, having a more 'seafood' touch. My wife's pick is the Beef Tendon & Roast Duck Noodle Soup. They cook the tendon til it's soft, gelatinous and TENDER. Definitely a must try for the adventurous souls! For me, I chose the Tossed (egg) Noodle w/Roast Duck & Vegetable (choy sum). Roast duck was flavorful, though slightly dry, and I wished the choy sum was cooked less to maintain its crunch. They tend to cook the veg til it's soft, so be warned. House made shrimp and pork dumplings had a light flavor to them; definitely not what I'm used to as far as saltiness and overall taste, but it goes well with anything you order on the menu and, of course, I had to give them a try. If you like spice, feel free to ask for some of their house made chili oil. Oh and btw, broth is served on the side for the Tossed Noodles. As for the service - the woman serving the dining room was SO HELPFUL. I'm assuming she's the owner. Aunty made sure we were happy with every dish we decided on, and she answered every question I had. She was patient, friendly, and welcoming to all who walked in as well! A true sign of appreciation to each and every patron. Interior of the restaurant, however, left much to be desired. There is no music playing to diffuse the silence, and the tablecloths appear to be from the 90's. Though the restaurant was significantly outdated, the owner seemed to keep a close eye on the tidiness and sanitation of the tables. Thumbs up for me! Downfall, unfortunately, is that they serve everything on disposables. I despise eating off paper plates and take out goods. Yes, maybe that's the cleaner or only option for their small establishment, but for me, it's just not my thing, not to mention it's so wasteful. Also, the duck was dry in my dish, but I would still go back to try other menu items. Hope you like it! :)

A very good place some fresh noodles. Dry or wet. I love the roast duck noodles. Reasonable prices and good portions. A must visit to the Chinese cultural plaza.

One of my buddy wanted to take my sister and brother-in-law and myself out for lunch . He recommended Hong Kong Noodles House. I told him oh that sounds great I never been there and I was looking forward . Thanks to fellow Yelpers Paul C. and Daniel .C Mentioning about this place to me and highly recommend it I was looking forward to have a nice lunch there . I was not disappointed I had their toss noodles w/duck and char Siu and they give you a side container of soup. So you can dip the noodles in the soup broth or pour it on your noodles however you want to eat it . Their noodle are thin and Hong style it was very delicious. My brother in law had the toss noodles with tendon and my friend had the toss noodles w/stew meat. Everyone enjoyed their lunch my sister got their wun tun mein noodles soup which she also enjoyed. Next time I'll definitely try something else . Service was friendly and efficient. Support local "Kung Hei Fat Choy"

A friend of Craig T. (Gino) took us out to lunch at HKNH. He wanted us to try their made in house noodles. Craig T was kind enough to pick me and my wife up. The restaurant is located in the cultural plaza with the entrance facing Nuuanu Steam. I ordered the beef tendon and pigs feet. This was served over a bed of the house noodles. The soup was served on the side. I really enjoyed the dish. I put a little mixture of shoyu and hot mustered. I didn't need the soup. Gino ordered Choy Sum and Roast Duck from us to share. Both were favorful .Side note; the food was served on paper plates and take out containers. Customer service excellent. Enjoy

Today my brothers friend took us out to lunch close to where I live in chinatown. This place I know we can walk but Craig decided to pick us up and drove over there. This place is right by royal kitchen manapua and Sandy's cafe. Called Hong Kong noodle house. We were there at 11am and I chose the won ton noodle in soup, my brother ordered toss noodles with roast duck and char siu and soup on the side. My husband ordered beef tendon with pig feet also soup on the side. Craig friend ordered green onion and beef soup on the side. Everything was good soup was hot and the noodles thin toss in a light sauce not over powering. Craig's friend also ordered roast duck and Choi sum on the side was good. Never heard of this place and will be back. Not walking there but drive. Lol...

Paper plates, paper cups. This is a little tucked away place, the kind that has great potential with homemade noodles but it was very mediocre. Thep broth was not that tasty and although we were amused by the gambling going on in the street it gave the area a sort of dicey feel with litter. It is on a pedestrian walkway, you must be on foot to access. It as cheap but the food was less than taaty. We ordered two dishes to share and both were only so so. We did not finish either dish. We are world travelers & you can do better elsewhere.

The tendon here was delicious! However I still haven't found a place with wontons comparable to what Hong Kong can offer... the wontons here didn't have enough shrimp and the skin wasn't thin enough. The noodles were OK. They weren't chewy or bouncy. But I'd go and order their beef tendon again. The staff were pretty friendly.

Food: 1 order beef tendon wonton noodle soup. 2 orders wonton noodle soup. Since we came in 20 minutes before closing they were out of duck. Food was very tasty. Soup was hot and properly flavored, not too salty. Noodles just the right texture, springy with great egg flavor. Wonton good size and generously portioned (8 each in wonton noodle soup, 6 each in wonton and tendon noodle soup). Tendon flavor on point and great texture. Quality is on par with San Gabriel Valley (Los Angeles, CA) wonton mein spots. Service: fast and friendly. Water refilled quickly. Offered chili oil and extra napkins. TLDR: would return for the high quality food and friendly service.

I enjoyed the stew noodles with beef tendons. This was the first time since the pandemic that I've eaten there since the pandemic and I was not disappointed.

After a long morning of attractions, we decided to stop by chinatown for lunch and came across this restaurant. My husband was craving wonton noodle soup and me & the kids on the other hand, we're bbq meat lovers- they have both! It was around 1 pm, we were the only ones dining in, and the owner who took our order was very nice & helpful. We ordered a wonton noodle soup, half roast duck, an order of roast pork & a few bowls of rice to eat with the meats. The wontons were plumped and meaty, homemade egg noodles were soft & broth was tasty just like in Hong Kong- so good that we ordered another bowl of wonton soup packed with 14-15 wontons. The roast duck and roast pork were flavorful, duck skin was crispy & pork was tender. The only downfall is that they don't have ginger/scallion chicken and roast pig. I would've gotten them all! Overall, we were not disappointed- definitely worth trying.

Visited Hong Kong Noodle House again today sept 6, 2023 . I ordered Tossed noodles with duck ($13.20) and side Pigs Feet ($15.00) with tax and .15 tip it came up to $33.12 . Food was great and I enjoyed the pigs feet , duck and noodles. Service was great and food came out quickly. Would order more but prices aren't cheap anymore. I just don't go there as often as I'd like. So sad .. I need to rotate dishes a bit. Food is great but prices are kinda high.So I give it 4 stars.

Food was mediocre. Everything was served on disposables. Noodles could be bouncier. Wonton was meh but the gau gee was definitely not a gau gee but a larger version of the wonton. Tried to come here twice before but it was closed so finally made it in the 3rd try. Was truly disappointed but at least I don't need to try coming here again.
