It was so delicious and the waiter was so nice. Very cozy little spot. There was a mentally ill person that was being loud and well, saying I was nasty, but they took care of it very quickly. I wouldn't list that detour you and I 'm sure that doesn't happen often there and I would definitely go again! The #2 popular soup base I would definitely recommend!

There are better hotpot spots, but this one is optimal.

Nicely decorated izakaya at City Market Plaza. We tried its signature lunch omakase with Wagyu beef, veggies, ramen, tofu and veggies. It also came with green tea and a mochi dessert. The meat was very good and veggies were fresh, but the beef based soup was the winner. The service was excellent and friendly. We will come back to try its other dishes. Note: this place is one of the only eateries that closes after lunch period is over and reopens later for dinner.

Update Dec 2025: it’s been a while since we’d dined here. W tried its Kamaaina special , which was chopped up ribeye with rice. It was tasty as other dishes we had here. The service was friendly as before. There’s a $20 AYCE hotpot deal that looked good as well. Maybe next time.

Service with a smile but seems to be short of help. The lunch set menu at $14.99 seemed a little expensive. Unfortunately they don’t give enough for the money. The other dishes were expensive for what you get 😐. Once was enough for my family and I. Left a little disappointed and still hungry. A lot of MSG is used in their preparation of the food and broth.

Tried the lunch sets β€” it was okay, but honestly, can’t complain at that price.

Unpretentious local shabu shabu. Had a nutritious shabu shabu lunch before my flight today and everything was perfect. Portion was reasonable for lunch deals and the marinara beef broth was amazing ans creative w hints of oregano along with japanese beef broth. The homemade sesame and chili oil were also so good - acts as a perfect coagulant with garlic, cilantro and a bit of hotpot broth. Quality of meats and vegetables is also very decent for the price. Thanks for this delicious meal

I'm a regular customer here and come often because the food is amazing and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I went there tonight and there was group of rude people saying they re going to leave a bad review and ruin the restaurant reputation @Yang Xu, but if you're going to leave a review at least be honest about what happened. The person writing that review skipped everyone in the line waiting outside then sat themselves down at a table I'm guessing was reserved because they got asked to wait outside like everyone else. I got sat right before them and when they sat down the older man in the group threw a menu across the restaurant (in his review he said they gently moved it to another table, LIES), and demanded priority over everyone else who was also waiting patiently. The staff asked them to be mindful of the other guests and they started being disrespectful and giving attitude to the waitress who then refused service to them. That's when they left saying they're going to leave a bad review. The staff deserve credit, not unfair criticism !
You guys handled that situation amazingly!!!

NOT RECOMMENDED. I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment and service my party received during our recent visit to this place. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable dining experience turned into a highly unpleasant and disappointing situation due to a series of serious service failures.

1. Disrespectful Treatment Toward Senior Foreign Guests. We were shocked and saddened to witness your staff loudly shouting at and rushing senior foreign customers who were simply unfamiliar with how to get started with ordering at your establishment. Instead of offering patience, guidance, and basic hospitality, they were treated with visible irritation and hostility. This was not only rude but also discriminatory and completely unacceptable behavior for any restaurant, especially one that welcomes international guests.

2. No Service After Seating (20 Minutes of Being Ignored). After being seated, our table was left unattended for over 20 minutes without any acknowledgment, menus, water, or service of any kind. During this time, staff members passed by multiple times but failed to offer even the most basic hospitality. This complete disregard left us feeling ignored and unwelcome.

3. Poor English Communication – Especially from the Owner. Effective communication is essential in customer service, especially in a restaurant that presumably serves a diverse clientele. Unfortunately, the owner and staff were unable or unwilling to communicate clearly in English. Attempts to ask simple questions about the menu or service were met with confusion, indifference, or dismissiveness. This made the entire experience unnecessarily frustrating and alienating.

4. Lack of Basic Courtesy to Guests Waiting Outside. When we first arrived, there were several empty tables inside, yet guests waiting outside were not greeted, acknowledged, or informed of the waiting situation. Considering the hot weather, the lack of even a simple β€œhello” or offer of water was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Many guests, including ourselves, felt disregarded from the very moment we arrived.

Overall Poor Service and Environment. The space felt cramped, disorganized, and unfriendly, with none of the warmth or attentiveness that diners should reasonably expect. It was evident that customer service is not being prioritized, which reflects poorly not only on the staff but especially on management.
