Lam’s Kitchen is the real deal in Honolulu’s Chinatown. Authentic Cantonese style “comfort” food! I was turned on to this restaurant after I saw it featured in a Foodie YouTube channel. My wife and I stopped in for lunch midweek. It was full so we had to wait about 15 minutes. There’s a “sign-in” sheet located at the entrance. After we were seated we ordered one Dry Beef Chow Fun and one Beef Flank Tendon Look Fun. Of course we had to share and both “hit the spot!” Good old school taste we enjoyed both dishes. It was definitely “hole in the wall” looking from the outside…but somewhat inviting on the inside. We initially walked right past it LOL. The interior was clean and service was good. Brought back memories of the good old Cantonese style restaurants from any of the mainland Chinatowns back in the day.
Hands down the BEST wonton noodle soup EVER!!
The noodles had the perfect chew, thin and so much flavor. The wonton with the shrimp, the wrapping so delicate.
Just the absolute BEST!

Service was A+.
Very hard working staff.
However, food was average, sauce was too watery and without any memorable flavor.
Sorry I have no yearn to return here.

Nice selection of fun and interesting brews!
The best crispy roast pork I've ever had, the roast beef is also top tier.
The poke is next to none!
We visited Chinatown yesterday and looked forward to order the beef flank and tendon look fun soup!
As I was ready to savor the soup, I noticed a weird stuff floating on the soup surface. I realized it’s a cockroach leg!!! Showed it to my husband , my aunt and the waitress. I asked her (the waitress) to tell me if its part of the soup 😓 She said it looks like a bean sprout🫣. I said NO. It’s not. They offered if I want another bowl of it. I kindly said no. I could have made a scene in there and scream there’s roach leg in the soup. But I didn’t. All I received was “I am sorry for that”.
We all make mistakes, but when it comes to food being serve to people, we need to be very careful.
The rest of the food we ordered was good.
But who knows what’s really in there.
Very unsanitary.🫢
However, my appetite yesterday was ruined.
Definitely not coming back.
Just for safety of our gut health.
The food was very comforting, reminded me of home. I got the beef look fun soup and added wontons. The chinese doughnut was also very good paired with the soup.
We got the chicken string bean rice dish and beef noodles with the addition of shrimp wonton. Both were good, not memorable.
Lam’s Kitchen – A Traditional Chinese Noodle Shop in the Heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown
Lam’s Kitchen is a small, old-fashioned noodle shop nestled in the bustling Chinatown district of Honolulu. The place seats only about 30 people, so even though we came during a regular lunch hour, my family and I had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table.
I ordered the fish noodle soup – the broth was clear and light, with a clean, subtle flavor. The fish was not fried but cooked directly in the soup, making the meat firm, fresh, and pleasantly mild. It’s a good choice for those who enjoy traditional, light flavors.
My husband and child had the stir-fried beef rice noodles – a more memorable dish. The wide, chewy noodles were stir-fried hot with tender slices of beef, and the dish carried a distinct smoky aroma from the wok – adding a layer of depth and authenticity.
Lam’s Kitchen may not offer groundbreaking cuisine, but it delivers an honest, traditional Chinese dining experience. If you have time while visiting Chinatown, it’s worth trying at least once.
Great food
Duck soup was well seasoned

Very good and authentic Hongkong comfort food as in fan, rice and noodles. The food came quickly and the sitting area was small, but clean.

We got the chow fun with choysum, fried donuts and beef and tendon look fun in soup. The soup dish was good, comforting but leaning towards too salty for us. The chow fun was lacking smokiness, overpowered by the sauce. Texture of noodle was amazing tho. The donuts were great too. Service was quick. We sat next to a larger group and had to share condiments which was a little awkward.

Look at it < Jjajang tastes good.. The chicken is good when dipped in sauce, and it's great when you top it with red chili oil!
