Best Udon in Hawaii. Nikutama tastes exactly like it does in Japan. Incredible work here, truly authentic Japanese Udon.

We went to Marugame twice on this trip.
Best qualify udon and broth.
Loved assortment of tempura.
This location had lunch special under $10 for small udon with one tempura.
Very busy but efficiently running.
Can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful experience at the Fort Street location, casual, and comfortable. Food (ie udon and zucchini tempura) were cooked perfectly as usual. The standard is the same regardless of in Japan or US. My go-to lunch spot.

Excellent freshly served udon noodles with a wide choice of broths — one of the best I’ve had in my life. Even the regular portion is large, the staff is friendly,. The only downside is the lack of a restroom and parking, but you can park at Hale Pauahi Municipal Parking—it’s affordable, safe, and about a 10-minute walk away.

Quick, delicious, and seriously impressive. This cafeteria-style tempura and udon spot delivers some of the freshest noodles I’ve had, with incredibly flavorful broths and curry. The tempura is hands down the best I’ve tried. It’s light, crispy, and perfectly cooked. It’s fast without feeling rushed, which makes it perfect for a quick bite that still feels satisfying. I’ve already been back a few times and will definitely keep coming back!

From the Marugame location at Sawtelle, CA to Waikiki, HI to Downtown Honolulu, HI, Marugame consistently delivers fresh udon that always hit the spot. There’s less of a line at the downtown Honolulu location, which is a major plus!

Honestly I'm not an udon person, I'd normally choose a plate lunch over saimin or udon any day. This place, however, has converted me to udon.
We've been to the Waikiki location, and now made it to the location in downtown HNL.
I'd say both are fantastic, I really liked this downtown location since they were not as busy, although we did get there just after 1pm...
Service was great, very friendly and helpful staff.
Udon was great, served hot, so ono! Even got to grab a crab tempura!
This is going to be one of my favorite go to spots in downtown Honolulu.
Definitely recommend this place!

#2 creamy broth is pretty bad and below average.. Definitely not the must try level.

Broth is pretty much plain taste and only comes with 3 very thin slices of chashu even for large size. Majority are just the Udon.

The Udon itself tastes good and fried chicken side is good.

Service was ok, but food was extremely good. I think it was a good value for the size of bowl of udon and definitely recommend the number 1.
