RIP Minato’s! Thank you for your years of great value lunches and full course teishoku dinners. If we see you, we see you. If not, take care on your next chapter.

Stopped by Minato to pick up lunch since I was visiting a near by establishment. I ordered take out. Prices are very reasonable. I made it time since they close at 1pm for lunch. Service was great. Love that they have the Japanese politeness. Food would be good if eaten there. I just threw the fried items in the air fryer to make it crispy again 😊

Have always loved coming here for food, but today we were completely ignored by staff. The restaurant was full so we were patiently waiting for a long while, yet after trying to flag down staff we watched them continue to take call-in orders and ignore the line of people outside. When we stepped in to ask staff if we could order take-out, they intentionally ignored us and walked away. Whoever these new staff are, they have really ruined the positive energy. The wait was always lengthy, but the staff were always transparent and lovely. Loyal customers lost for what?

Love this old school local Japanese cafe.
It’s the real deal. Stop in for lunch or dinner when you’re missing grandmas cooking. Casual atmosphere.

Parking: Parking with Fujiya Hawaii so stop in for mochi as well

This is a terrific local style Japanese restaurant where many regular customers come to dine. The food is delicious, especially the butterfish and ribs.

The restaurant is off the main road so it is easy to miss, but it is definitely a restaurant worth trying. It operates on Japanese hours. Meaning lunch ends at 1:15PM and it reopens later for dinner.

I often miss the dining hours, hence the four stars. Otherwise this would be a five stars restaurant for me.

This is a typical Japanese yoshoku restaurant. The food is characteristically salty, which adds to its charm. By Hawaii standards, the prices are not expensive, and the portions are generous.

One of the few family Japanese restaurants in the island that has the authentic local and authentic Japanese flavors I've grown up with. Every dish they offer and I've had over the decades of visits are 5 ⭐s. Very friendly staff. Sometimes it does get very busy, so order ahead for takeout. Well worth the wait. I'm getting hungry for their 3 item combination of shrimp tempura, butterfish and chicken karaage or maybe the Saba, spare ribs and vegetable tempura or maybe just the ribeye with shrimp tempura. I can't decide - everything is soooo good!

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor. Just roll right in from parking lot.

I’ve been passing this restaurant for the last month, very interested. Because I had a little time before my ride arrived, I decided to get some takeout. Cute place, dark and moody atmosphere. The salmon nigiri wasn’t fresh and it was slimy and the uni had begun to turn bad. I prefer natto on the side but was encouraged to get the roll. Lesson learned, only eat at the sushi bar where I can see the quality and send back nearly spoiled dish. For the price, I will not return. Also, I may have stayed for a beer as I waited for my takeout but the cashier was quick to ask me to wait outside, offering to text me when my order was ready.Sorry readers, this is not the Minato I ate from.

It's a quiet little place. I'm so glad we found it by chance. The service was great, and the food was tasty. The atmosphere was very peaceful with soft music. Excellent choice ? ? ?

I plan to go often. It also suited the tastes of Koreans well.In particular, the children loved the pork cutlet and udon set.I think the price is also very reasonable.
