My family and I throughly enjoyed the vegan pad kee mao and iced coffee with coconut. I love the vibes there. The staff are friendly and attentive. Updated from previous review on 2025-07-01
Olay’s Thai-Lao Cuisine. -large and beautiful venue -byob -huge menu -items labeled vegan. -wish for more flexibility (spring rolls and peanut sauce) -lacks vegan appetizers -reservations are encouraged through resy -Summer rolls: not worth it unless it had a vegan peanut sauce :/ -vegan Panang (peanut curry ironically): wife likes it, i dont think it stacks up to most if not all of the panangs i’ve tried on island that i’ve tried so far. -vegan pad se-ew: underwhelming. Would expect more noodles and less veg. -pretty pricey for the portions. Ultimately, just fair, won’t complain too much, but i’d rather go other plces for my Thai cuisine. Definitely worth a shot. Might come back to try other options, but from what i’ve seen- its probably not worth it for me.
Love the outdoor patio seating and koi pond/fountain. Great service. Enjoyed the food overall but found the Tom Yum soup a bit 'flat'. Didn't have the tamarind tang we expected. Vegan options available. Lychee lemonade was refreshing and delicious.

Horrible experience. Would recommend especially via resy. Resy told it’s ready. Restaurant told it’s not. Order with pickup 7 pm was not ready at 8:30 pm. Forgot 1 of 2 dishes. It’s in ghetto area. Thumbs down. No nearby parking space.

Very unassuming from outside, you enter a new world a you enter the rather spacious dining area. They have a wide variety of Thai food.

I recommend making a reservation as this place can get quite busy. We hoped to walk in but had to get our food to go due to multiple large parties having bookings. Anyway, the restaurant is charming and the staff we interacted with were all super nice. All three of the dishes we got were amazing and we can't wait to go back for a second visit (with a reservation this time).

One of my favorite eats on the island, been coming here since they opened and they’ve always had impeccable decorations, warm service, and all the southeast asian flavors we crave after a week without. I love sitting by the koi pond and watching the turtles waddle about every so often.
My go-tos are crispy rice salad, eggplant, rad na (gravy chow fun) with very seasoned tofu, and their spicy manila clam stirfry. Your tongue will be tingling by the end of your meal but that’s what the sticky rice is for! 🤤🍚

This place has the menu clearly marked vegan-friendly dishes, and many items can be customized to be vegan. We tried the Drunken Noodles with tofu and vegetables, and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Tom Yum soup, which was fresh, and vibrant flavors. The rich, tangy broth was incredibly satisfying. The variety and flexibility of vegan options here make it a fantastic spot for plant-based dinners.
Quite possibly the best Thai I've had in my life.
Wonderful service.
Sitting in the back courtyard is like an oasis in

Excellent food. The atmosphere is A+. I had a tofu and vegetable pad thai, fried calamari and a thai tea. I will come back again and try other food next time I visit Honolulu.

I ordered Garlic pepper ribs which turned out to be hard and impossible to chew. The next dish was Green Mango Salad which turned out to be heavily seasoned with apple cider vinegar, it was also impossible to eat. The table was next to the pond and the table and chairs were tilted due to the uneven surface of the floor where the lawn was. It's uncomfortable to sit. Conclusion, I will never return here.
