Awesome place, me and my ohana stopped in for lunch and got the mix plates. Loved every bit of it, also we met the owner Rick, who was there to oversee the filming of a commercial! RICK was so nice. He asked where we from said Texas, Told him there for daughters high school graduation trip, to which he comped her meal!! Then afterwards, as we were leaving, I asked to take a pic with him and sister n law because it was her that found it!! So RAINBOW and RICK, many MAHALO's...
I got the shoyu chicken plate for $9.50 and it was good and it was a lot. This was definitely a cheap eats. I ate about half and saved the other half for dinner. The whole plate must have been about 2 pounds for more. The server was friendly and helpful so that made everything better.
Rainbow Drive-In, kalihi. To me Rainbows will always be Rainbows. I had the boneless chicken gravy. Of course I loved it. Parking is sparse, but I was lucky to get a spot in the back. Service was quick and friendly. It's worth a try and you decide how it compares to the original.
