I was looking for an omakase spot last minute to top off my solo trip to Hawaii and Sushi Sho was by far the highest, most recommended place that I saw. I was somehow luckily able to snag a reservation for 1 and although I was a bit hesitant because of the price tag, knowing how difficult it is to get a spot here, I thought it was a sign I could not miss out, and I'm so glad I did it. From the thoughtful service to the carefully and delicately crafted dishes, Sushi Sho has become my all time favorite omakase experience. We had a total of 27 courses including dessert and it was such a delight tasting each dish not knowing what to expect, but genuinely enjoying all these flavors in a new way. The staff make sure that your dietary preferences are met so that you can have a completely well rounded meal that you will enjoy. Thank you Sushi Sho for an amazing time, this will def be one of the most memorable experiences of my Hawaii trip.

I order the Togo box from here. For $40 this is a huge win. One of the most value meals in my opinion. This is no omakase and it's a change up from all the sushi you mightve been having the past few days. This chirashi box feels messy but it's so thorough.Delicious fish and seafood in here and you will always be surprised with what you find. Highly recommend ordering this and taking it down to a beach for a sunset quick meal! Note that you have to pickup at 4:30pm.

Among the recent slew of high-end omakase sushi in Honolulu, Sushi Sho stands out. It’s not just for its price point — one of the highest, starting at $300, but also for the creativity of Keiji Nakazawa, one of Japan’s most acclaimed sushi chefs, who left Tokyo to open this 10-seat restaurant in the Ritz Carlton. He combines old Edomae sushi techniques, which highlight flavor nuances through aging fish such as wild yellowtail and moi, with nods to Hawai‘i, as with a bite-size riff on laulau, a traditional Hawaiian dish of pork wrapped in taro leaves. You’ll need reservations far in advance. There are only two Dean & DeLucas left in the country, and they’re both in Hawai‘i. Head to the one at the Ritz-Carlton, which offers bento boxes made to order by Sushi Sho, the 10-seat restaurant a few floors up, where sushi master Keiji Nakazawa presides. An omakase there starts at $300, but you can taste a bit of the chef’s exquisite precision with the bento box ($16), which includes oversized but meticulously crafted maki rolls. The exact contents rotate, but you might find rolls stuffed with unagi, shrimp, and tamago as fluffy as sponge cake, accompanied by hearts of palm grown in Hawai‘i.

During our recent visit to Sushi Sho in Honolulu, my wife and I had an exceptional dining experience. The highlight of our meal was the omakase, a chef’s choice menu that showcased an array of fresh, expertly prepared sushi. The sushi master’s skill and hospitality added a special touch to our evening. Personally, I was particularly impressed by the sea urchin sushi. It was incredibly creamy and rich, melting perfectly in the mouth. Additionally, the restaurant offers a wide selection of blue fin tuna, providing a delightful variety for tuna enthusiasts. The overall ambiance, coupled with the high-quality food, makes Sushi Sho a must-visit for any sushi lover in Honolulu.

Wow wow wow. This is my 3rd time back. The food is amazing best sushi place I've had by far. Service is top of top always checking if we are ok if we need more drinks. Staff will bring you cold or hot towels too. The inside of this restaurant really has the Japanese authentic feel to it , I will be back again as the menu changes monthly. Prices are very reasonable too.

I actually came to this place 3 months ago so this is a long awaited review. I recently visited Japan and ofc I had to try their omakase. To my surprise sushi sho is actually very well known in Japan because apparently a Japanese chef from Japan started sushi sho and many other omakse restaurants. I do think it's a bit pricey $350/person. I came here with my bf to celebrate his birthday so after all the extra food that we ordered our total came to be about $900! after finding out how popular sushi sho is I definitely feel like the price is somewhat justifiable
