A while ago, after reading the less than favorable reviews, I thought I'd try it myself. But I noticed (?) that they only had black beans and not refried beans. Well, the latter is a big part of Mexican food for me. So I left without ordering. A couple days ago I was getting a haircut and thought I'd try it again even with black beans. I love cheese and tortillas. Ordered two chicken enchiladas with everything and when the server asked black or refried beans, I was delighted. Took my order home and enjoyed a great meal. Glad I gave it another try. I'll be back. PS - The server was very nice.

yes!!!! i did never again will go there. this is not the first time unwelcoming issues we've had at this place ! #1, they don't get your order correct! your order is slapped into a cardboard container, so your food is blending into the cardboard! when you start to eat, you're scraping the "soft" cardboard at this point! #2- no taco sauce when it was requested several times! sad place! there are several other places to order from at the hawaii kai town center strip mall! i don't want to leave a star, however i have to leave one at their request!

Good size serving. Chicken in nachos just right, not too salty or bland. Love their guacamole & salsa. Unfortunately no salsa given; probably forgotten.

The food was kind of bland, ordered the spicy bbq chicken and it tasted like boiled chicken breast. Not only was it bland but the portion sizes were what I would serve a child. As for the restaurant itself it was dirty and small, on top of that for some reason they have stacked all these chairs and tables in front of the service area making for an awkward ordering experience.

I love this place. Cheapest burrito on the island. A burrito shouldn't cost $15. This place is affordable and good. The only way this would be better would be if they had chicharrones. They also have black beans which i like.

I used to come to this place often. Would get burrito bowl. Good place & the portion used to be really good, but lately since new staff have come their quantities have reduced to half. They twice forgot to put the sides & toppings I asked for. Even after informing them about it & complaining they still give small portion. I'm not sure if I will go back here again.

Taco shells were rancid. Rice was dry/tasteless. Went home fiixed it up with a little tomato sauce/garlic salt/olive oil& sprinkle of sugar. I hope they improve.
So this place is getting a one star because well I didn't get to eat their food. I went there one day when they opened, I guess they didn't get the memo that they were suppose to be open. I waited 10 mins past their "scheduled time" to be open and left. So yeah not impressed.

Got takeout from here and my husband picked it up so I can't rate it for cleanliness but he did say that the guy helping him was really nice and friendly (& helpful, since he doesn't normally order Mexican food & was a bit lost) but the taco salad with tasty chicken and black beans was really good and had lots of lettuce and tomatoes. This was perfect as I wanted to have something tasty yet healthy for lunch. Under the shell it was a bit wet, as the bottom of the shell fell out when I lifted it to transfer it to a bowl. It was fine though, as I don't eat that much of the crispy shell. This was filling and tasty! Would totally get this again. Maybe next time I won't forget to take pictures either (oops!). In the parking lot with Costco HI Kai. Lots of free parking.

I always get nachos when I go. They’re huge and you get a ton of food for the money. Load them up, get a ton of hot sauce on there and baby, you got a stew goin.

12/2022Finally had the time to swing by. Had the Modito and wasn't disappointed. Great place for your quick Mexi-fix. Guy behind the counter was very friendly and accommodating. Straight to the point good food. Sorry, woofed down my burrito before i took a pic. There'll be a next time so stay tuned. Not badly priced with really good selection. ?✌️Parking: Parking around Costco side of shopping center.
