“Great out of the way place with authentic Thai cuisine.“

“I’ve been coming here for six years, and while the food hasn't changed, the crowds have definitely grown. I was surprised to see it packed on a Tuesday night with people waiting outside.
The atmosphere and service are fairly standard. Because they were in a rush, the staff missed some food crumbs on the seats and didn't wipe the table thoroughly. We ordered quickly to beat the rush from the group behind us.
As for the food, the bone-in fried chicken is always a winner—tender, moist, and crispy. The Pad Thai is actually one of the closest versions I've had to 'real' Thai food (told by thai friend). I personally didn't care for the spring rolls or the beef in the green curry (I prefer chicken), but that’s just a preference.
Everything we ordered feed 3 adults and 1 child.
Prices are standard for Hawaii Thai spots. For spice, 'Medium' is my limit—it’s definitely an 'American Medium,' not 'Thai Medium.' I'll be back, though the parking setup and the location are a bit of a hassle.“

“The woman who owns and runs the place is a one woman operation. Very sincere excellent cook. The food is very reasonably priced and very, very good. I've been to Thailand once before and I felt like I was right back there with the food.“

“Absolutely amazing little place! We were looking for something to eat after 9pm after everywhere else was closed and man am I happy I found this. Best service, amazing food! The cook came to greet us and made sure everything was to our taste. I hate spicy and the cook made all my food without being extremely spicy. You have to try the Pad Thai and their specialty rice. You will not regret coming here! Enjoy a new fav Thai. Don’t let it being a pub stop you from going! Very friendly and fun!“

“Today I stopped by this restaurant for a quick lunch. Ordered two dishes papaya salad Laos flavors and beef pad Thai noodles. Papaya salad was crunchy with a hint of salty, sweet and sour and made in perfection. I only ordered with 1 pepper since it is my first time here I rather stay safe or gently lightly when it comes to spicy level. And the pad tha noodles has egg, tofu with beef and a touch of tamarind in it. Both dishes are fantastic. I will return to this place again in the future. :-)“

“If you are looking for a great affordable Thai restaurant this is the place to eat. I drive from the east side of the island to dine here. BYOB! The fried chicken appetizer, chicken satay, larb, spring rolls, papaya salad, drunken noodles, stir fry dishes and curries are stand outs. Everything is fresh and delicious. Save room for the mango sticky rice. Many customers order vietnamese pho here. I haven't tried it.“

“My husband and I really enjoyed their authentic Thai food! It's a small, cozy restaurant, but the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner and staff are very welcoming and make you feel at home. We'll definitely be back. 😀“

“Stumbled on this place right off base around lunch time. This “shack” is no fast food joint. Everything is made to order, so it takes about 10 mins to get your food after ordering. But the wait is well worth it!
We ordered the pangang curry and Thai boat noodles. Both were flavorful and fresh! For $12-$13 per meal, this was a large helping. I will say, the Thai boat noodles did have some chunks of lemongrass, cloves, and other sneaky flavor bombs that can get intense if you aren’t careful to pick them out.
I will come back again for sure!“

“Chicken laarb tasted okay. The ginger soup tasted really good. The shredded cabbage tasted really appetizing with its soup. I had this ginger soup a few times here, and I liked it every time. It's like a comfort food to me now. I'm just a bit disappointed this time because the meat was really tough. I had to really chew it. I almost choked one time when I just wanted to swallow it already.“

“Last night, we went to Noi Thai Cuisine in Royal Hawaiian Center Building C, Level 3 – C308 2301 Kalakaua Ave. Honolulu, HI 96815 and it was amazing. The food really showed off what Thai cuisine is all about - it was full of flavor. We tried the BANGKOK RED CURRY and PAD THAI, both were delicious. Our server, Apple, was fantastic. She recommended these dishes and was super attentive to us. The whole experience was great. Apple made us feel welcome and shared interesting facts about the food. The restaurant felt cozy, like being invited to someone's home in Thailand. If you're into exploring Thai flavors and enjoying a warm, friendly service, you should definitely check out Noi Thai cuisine. It's not just about eating; it's like a quick trip to Thailand. Thanks to Apple, we had a memorable night.“

“To Thai For has been a mainstay of Waialae Ave since before the pandemic. They are family run and the food is excellent. Highly recommended for families and groups: great selection of well made and delicious food, friendly service, and tasty as can be. Our favorites are the pad kee mao and the panang curry. We definitely enjoy supporting this local spot.“

“I just had the pleasure of trying Tom Kha Gai for the first time, and it was an absolute explosion of flavors that I savored with every spoonful. The rich, creamy coconut base perfectly balanced with the tangy zest of lime, the bright citrus notes of lemongrass, the warmth of galangal, and a subtle kick of chili made this Thai soup an instant favorite. I ordered from Bangkok Chef Nimitz in Honolulu, and they did not disappoint. The soup was fresh, aromatic, and delicious—definitely a dish I'll be craving again soon!“
“We had pad thai w/shrimp, fried calamari, panang curry and their fried chicken. Everything was ono and the service great. Thank you for a pleasant experience. We'll be sure to come back again. I do forsee a lot of take-out in the future.“

“I didn't try any of the food however, I ordered a Tai Iced Tea only to find a fly in my drink. When I informed the proprietor of the establishment of my discovery, he was super apologetic and replaced my drink with no questions asked. He even offered more than what I had purchased and was genuinely embarrassed by the fluke that nature had provided. I informed him that we were good accepted another drink sans fly. I would definitely recommend trying the food here and leaving a generous tip! The Elephant Shack in Honolulu is the real deal and you won't be dissapointed.“

“In our one week stay in Oahu, my husband and I ate here for dinner twice! It was seriously so delicious. We ate only vegetarian options which were full of flavor, spice levels varied and were perfect. Service was really efficient and the staff was excellent. Its a small place but that didnt draw away from the experience at all. There is a lot of Thai culture throughout the restaurant, including decor and music. If we were close to this restaurant everyday I wouldnt have minded eating only here!“

“Excellent currey. All their curries are great, lots of ingredients, just the right spices. Recently increase price, but they give you a lot of good. I ordered take out only. Did not tried their other dishes.
Parking: They only have a few shared parking in front of the restaurant.“

“Coming here was like visiting two Thai aunties - outdated furniture with abundance of kitsch decoration... But the food is great! I really enjoyed Thai ice tea, papaya salad and durian sticky rice. Udon noodles were good, but compared to other dishes a bit flat tasted. Prices very reasonable for Hawaii. Definitely worth it. Recommended!“

“A hole in the wall place. People mostly take out. Just a few tables for dining in. NO table service. Counter service only. Some of the dishes are very good like the oxtail or pho. But the pork ribs are very underwhelming(fried bacon slabs). Can’t beat the prices though.“

“Delicious my go-to spot in HNL“
“Located within the Maunakea food court. The food court, itself, is rather sad and decrepit looking.
I ordered a Lao papaya salad and Lao sausage with the very nice owner. She asked me for my spice level and I replied “the authentic way you eat it.” The salad itself was definitely spicy and I enjoyed every bite. Only criticism would be I wished the papaya was crunchier. I also like peanuts in my papaya salad but there were none in this version, I don’t know if the Lao version contains peanuts. The sausage was meaty and tasty.
I’d return to try their other authentic Lao dishes.“

“This great Thai take out place offers all the classics at very reasonable prices in a convenient location. It is located in the food court area just outside of Don Quijote. Their food is all made to order and served up hot and fresh, as well as the operators are very friendly and take your order courteously. I ordered the Tom Kai Gai soup which is similar to the Tom Yum, but with coconut milk and tasty perfectly sizes of sliced chicken breast. I did order it spicy because I like the Thai chili kick, but you can get it mild as well and it will still be flavorful from ginger and kaffir lime leaves. The broth is light, yet very satisfying. I recommend getting a side of jasmine rice to go with it if you aren't getting anything else. One down fall to this location is the common seating area in the food court. Aside from being very busy with customer entering and exiting Don Quijote, there is an over abundance of homeless and crazies hanging out. It doesn't make for a comfortable dining experience if you aren't a bit thick skinned. On a plus note, if open, they do have an inside counter area that can seat about 2. I would definitely go back again as well as recommend this place to others.“

“Kim, Kevin, and the tasty food keep us returning. The only suggestion we would offer is that the food for the plate lunches be kept consistently on a food warmer that's turned on, rather than giving it an appearance that the food is heated.“

“Thai Issan has recently opened a second restaurant at the place that Thai Village was operating from.
The dishes were very traditional with fresh ingredients. I tried its Larb with pork and that was really good. We also got the drunken noodles with chicken and it was decent, not overly sweet.“

“We found Aloha Mamacita while watching a Niners game at the Row, where they allow outside food.
We ordered onion rings, fries, and their Thai fried chicken. The fries and chicken were my favorites. For 3 people, all of it came out to around $30, too.
Staff were super friendly, and the seating inside is nice. Parking is easy with the garage and validation. All in all, would definitely come back to try more items (like their horchata towers!)“
