The iconic Mariposa meal starts with a Demitasse of savory consommé and a popover with a fruit butter. Today we enjoyed our favorite dishes: Pork chop with mash potatoes and asparagus and salmon ochazuke. The pork chop was seasoned and very juicy and delicious. The salmon was flavorful and firm with tasty risotto dotted with special relish, furikaka, and assorted fish roe and a tiny container of additional hot, green tea. We savored the well prepared meals.
If you're looking for a fabulous sunset view (from 5:30 - 6:30 pm) and wonderful local Hawaiian music with special friends from off-island, Mariposa's outdoor dining is IT! The special menu item - the Giardiniera Salad - was notable for its large size, variety of vegetables and deliciously light dressing. The salmon that I chose to add with was a bit on the dry side. Our server Kai was very attentive and thoughtful. My sister and I shared the Cobb salad and he split the salad for the both of us. My burger and her pulled pork sandwich were delicious.
