Waikiki Starlight Luau Reviews
Such a great experience, lots of food, and a great show. Would definitely go again
We attended the show on Tuesday 26th August 2026. The food were average. The staff were nice and friendly. The setting I’m not sure it’s the best possible way.
But the performance was great. I felt that it is still possible to witness a relationship between people, nature, and culture in which people do not simply live in nature; they see themselves as a part of it. And perhaps that is why a small island and their works can somehow feel so incredibly wonderful…❤🍀

This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. They greeted us with delicious mai tais and juice for the kids. A huge variety of food; our daughter, who has celiac disease, was allowed to go through the line first (they also brought extra food for her before the buffet line could get contaminated. Waikiki Starlight Luau provides a fun dining experience with a variety of delicious food, including gluten-free desserts. The premier seating is worth the extra cost, offering a fabulous show even if held indoors because of weather. Performers are lively and entertaining, with storytelling, hula, and fire dancing that keeps the energy high. The evening begins with flower bracelets and temporary tattoos, adding a festive touch. The food is solid and plentiful, with a good variety for everyone, and bar service is quick and friendly. Guests appreciate the convenience of the location, as it is right on the resort property, making it easy after a day of exploring. The show takes place on a parking garage rooftop, which affects the atmosphere, but many still find it enjoyable.
Some reviews mention that the seating arrangement feels more like a wedding with long tables, which can make it less intimate. Others felt the event was rushed, with activities and eating time happening quickly. Guests with Diamond tickets sometimes waited in line for food while others were served earlier. Concerns were raised about adults taking food from the kids' buffet, leading to disappointment when food ran out. Despite these issues, the lively performances and overall atmosphere make it a memorable experience. It is a popular choice for guests staying at the Hawaiian Village Resort who want a fun, stress-free luau without leaving the premises.
