“We spent 3 nights at this resort during our recent Hawaii vacation. The resort is older, which we knew going in, but the staff we met were so friendly! Housekeeping did a great job each day and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the coffee, hot chocolate, juice, and warm cookies in the lobby. We also had dinner downstairs, and it was a great meal! We did valet our rental Jeep, and I'm so glad we did! The guys were wonderful, and we loved it was a covered area to get in and out of the Jeep from. All in all, we had a great experience!! We really loved the location and how easy it was to explore around the Hilo side of the island! If we return back to Hilo, we would for sure book here again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!“

“This cute little shack is a Hawaiian classic near akaka falls. Nice menu with shakes, smoothies, wraps etc all using fresh local ingredients, many from their own farm. There's a small selection of clothing and hats and several picnic tables to enjoy your meal don't forget to look behind the shack for a couple more private picnic tables on the grass“

“We dined here because we were provided with breakfast vouchers from the apartment nearby. We could choose:
- sandwich + drink
- pastry + drink
- cookies + drink
First day we chose sandwich and coffee. You can choose the bread type, cheese type, meat type, egg or no egg. We are vegetarians so we can’t tell anything about the meat but the bagel we received was really tasty and warm.
Second day we chose the pastries. Cinnamon roll (it was huge) and the guava bearclaw. It was really good!
If you don’t have vouchers - the coffee is $2, sandwiches $7.5 and pastries from $5 to $7.
Parking: There are a few parking spots on the street. We never had problems with finding one.“
