808 Grindz Cafe Kona is a super solid local spot for good, affordable comfort food done right. The vibe is chill, no fuss, authentic, and warm with a comfortable atmosphere, though the space is a bit small with limited seating. Service is friendly, efficient, and fast.
The food is simple, generous, really well executed, and pretty tasty. Portions are big, leaving you full. Dishes are flavorful and satisfying, with clear care put into them. For breakfast, the pancakes are fluffy, the loco moco is great, and the breakfast cresandwich is good. The Portuguese Moco has good sausage, and the Da Bene Trio is pretty solid, though some grilled meats can be a little tough and dry. The rainbow French toast is okay but good. Meals come with classic mac salad and rice that balance the plate well. It is a great spot for a casual meal or local breakfast grub and is well worth a visit.
