Sunset Kai Lanai Reviews
I just found this place today. What a great location, high above the shopping center. The views go for miles. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and a Raspberry Rita, which was so pretty, with the sugar rim. Friendly service & yummy food.
While the views of the sunset are pretty, the service is absolutely terrible. Before I begin, a reservation was made in advance and was not a large party whatsoever. Once seated, we waited over 15 minutes to get our drink orders taken. It then took another 45 minutes to receive said drinks. Another 15 minutes went by before our order was taken. Of course several appetizers were ‘sold out’ but we ordered alternative options along with our entrees. Over an hour went by and there...read full review
The host was kind and accommodating. He sat me at the bar at my request and the bartender did not greet me or even notice me for quite some time. When he did notice me, he tried to give me another menu and I showed him the one sitting in front of me and let him know I was ready to order. Sunset Kai Lanai is a restaurant that offers a beautiful, spectacular view of the sunset along with a selection of drinks, including delicious mai tais. The food is generally considered good and amazing, with the Hawaiian pork chop dinner being a standout, and the ribeye and filet steaks also receiving high praise from customers. The Ono poke nachos, seafood pasta, seafood salad, and salmon are also amazing. Don't skip on desert either, with the peanut butter and key lime pie being the best. Some have noted that the portions are huge, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. However, there are comments about the prices being a bit high for the quality. The service can be hit or miss, but many customers have reported attentive, charming, and funny service. Parking can be challenging right next to the restaurant, but there are ample spots available down the hill. The restaurant automatically adds a tip, which has been a point of contention for some. Overall, Sunset Kai Lanai is a nice spot for a tasty dinner with an unbeatable view and atmosphere, perfect for special occasions, but it may not be the best option for those on a tight budget.
