Umeke's at KOA airport is the sole dining option at Gate 1, offering dishes like poke nachos and grilled fish plates. The spicy ahi poke had a generous portion but a bit heavy on mayo. The grilled fish plate was flavorful, with a side of rice and macaroni salad. Customers appreciated the fresh, hot food made to order. The atmosphere is casual, clean, and air-conditioned, making it a pleasant dining experience. They now open early, serving breakfast and desserts. The Ahi Fish tacos and Ahi fish and chips were good, with a crunchy crust and meaty, generous fish. The garlic furikake chicken and loco moco were very good, flavorful, and had big portions. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. There are some vegetarian options and it is good for kids, with no stairs. The food is amazing and it’s worth it for the AC & grub.
