“Went to hukilau for 37th wedding anniversary. Oct 15. Was dying for prime rib. Didn’t care about price I wanted Prime rib so so bad. All we get here on Kauai is choice. There is no fat in the meat no marbling and you can’t cut it with a fork. You have to slice every bite. That is choice. And if you’re good with that. Then the rib is great. It was cooked perfectly. But I wanted the prime rib. Prime has fat all thru it and so tender the meat falls apart. Little pieces of fat around the edges and you can see the marbling in the center. I actually asked the waitress what was on my plate (which I have never ever done before) and she said it was prime she even went to the chef to check. He too said it was prime. I have cooked a lot of prime rib in my lifetime so I feel like I know what talking about but I felt like I was being blown off like an unknowing tourist. All I know is that my meat did not look anything like what is in the photo of their prime rib on the website with photos of their menu. Love this place otherwise. Been going there for 30 years. Incredibly nice waithelp and an incredible view for a romantic evening.“

“I had the sea bass, and It was the best meal I have had in years.“
“Staffs are friendly. This is my first time to visit. U basically tell them what u like and they will suggest you which combination you would order. All of the items look so good. I always wanted to try sesame Poke Ahi, sesame scallops, kimchi, stuffed chicken and pork Lau Lau with rice for my husband and I. Love all of them! U can tell they have good quality of food and prepared them well in order to keep them fresh! Highly recommend! Love this Hawaii food! 👏👏👍“

“Yummy! This was an absolutely pleasant surprise. I found them because their Ahi Wrap was featured on Food Network's: The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Admittedly, there were issues with our order with the food taking longer than normal, so we were offered a container of poke to say sorry! The fish was so fresh and delicious. I chose the fresh catch plate (Ono) and the dipping sauces that came with it were delicious, my mouth is STILL watering! Seating is limited outdoors, but definitely still warrants a stop. Parking is plentiful in the front and back of this shopping mall.“

“The food was exceptionally delicious and the choices were varied. There were six different preparations of poke. I chose spicy ahi and green onion ahi. Stellar range of flavors. The staff were friendly and very willing to explain the differences in preparation. Highly recommended!“
“all year round fresh local fish“
“This is the best Poke on island, I have gone to most of the others, but I kind of just went once. Lawai'a though I keep coming back to. Their best stuff is the bottom row of poke, it is their most unique flavors, and all really good. Their smoked fish is also really good. I also often get their hot food, which changes constantly in selection, their fired chicken and salmon belly is tasty.
The staff is friendly, when I got some ama ebi from them to cook, when I came back for poke they asked about what I did with them.“

“We stopped here because it was convenient when we checked out of our day room at the resort. We needed to catch dinner before heading to the airport for a late night (sans meal) flight back to the mainland. The resort is currently in the middle of a major renovation project and it's a challenge to get anywhere, but it was well worth the effort. The restaurant is nicely, but not highly decorated. The area is relatively quiet. Frankly my expectations were not too high when we received a simple, photocopied menu. My wife and I decided to try the Kalua pork sliders. We were quite pleasantly surprised at the excellent taste and quality of that dish. My wife also loved the side order of parmesan fries that we got to accompany the sliders. A desert finished our session there nicely and provided all the nutrition required for the ride home. I am sorry we didn't get a chance to return before departing Kauai.“

“Found this spot on a whim during my 2 day visit to Kauai. This is a MUST try for a delicious lunch. It was worth every penny. The owners, husband and wife, are incredibly friendly. Definitely the best service I've had in a restaurant in some time. Go and enjoy!“
“We had lunch at this eatery and it was reasonable, busy with local workers, and terrific. Located a little off the beaten path in a light industrial neighborhood. We had the fresh Snapper blacken sandwich and it was outstanding! The entire time we were dinging the takeout orders were streaming out the door. A true winner! Everything was fresh and tasty while being reasonably priced.“

“We just enjoyed a delightful dinner that was too tasty for us to stop and take a picture. We had the teriyaki chicken and the grilled ahi. The service was over the top and the patio was perfect. Thank you! You have fans from Texas!“
