Ramen Ya is awesome. Very casual place to eat when you don't know what to eat for the night. Servings are more than enough for one person. If you buy a single item that's not in a combo, prepare to share because it is worth it. Even the ramen sets are sharable and a great deal as it's only $16 for basically three separate meals. The servers are nice. For a franchise brand, Ramen Ya is still good at delivering quality and I love to eat here when I feel sick. Again...

This was my first time here as I am visiting from Dallas, TX. I am not sure if I have high expectations for ramen or not, but I make some pretty great ramen at home.

I went with the Tonkotsu ramen - an incredibly safe bet for any ramen shop. I was not impressed. The noodles seemed like they came from a package of Maruchan ramen, and the pork was thin and gummy. The egg was not soaked in any kind of brine/soy base-it was just a soft-boiled egg.

Got a quick order for takeout at this convenient location in Kapolei. Combo Tonkotsu Ramen with side gyoza and side beef curry. Great value for under $20. Can't go wrong. Sorry, I didn't take a pic, but it was worth it. Give it a try! ??
