It’s tough to find truly good Mexican food in Hawaii, but Taqueria El Ranchero in Kapolei was a total win! We started with chips and salsa along with the chorizo queso – both were full of flavor and a great way to kick things off. For our main dishes, we had tamales, tacos, and elote. Everything was delicious! The tamales were just a little overcooked, but still really tasty and clearly homemade.

What really stood out, besides the food, was the service....

I ordered the Birria Tacos and they definitely did not disappoint. Very friendly and patient staff. Virtually no wait, was seated quickly, and my order was taken right after. Chips and salsa were crunchy and hot. Throughly enjoyed the tacos and overall had an incredible experience.

Food was good, not the best Mexican food I've had. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and my wife ordered the beef fajitas, I also ordered the al pastor street taco, kinda small for $4.50. Service was good, the music was playing way too loud for me for dinner time. I don't think we will come back again, I will keep looking for a good Mexican restaurant.
