Big Island Bakehouse is an excellent spot to indulge in a wide variety of fresh baked pastries. From coconut macaroons to blonde brownies, each treat is packed with flavor and texture. The croissants are a must-try, perfectly flaky and buttery, with fillings like lilikoi cinnamon and basil and goat cheese. The bakery also offers chocolate chip cookies that are perfect of sweet and salt, possibly the best ever, and the custard cream in the bomboloni tastes like one of the best crème pâtissière from France. This bakery is a great morning stop, offering a lovely atmosphere and a huge selection of sweet and savory treats. Customers praise the appearance of the baked goods, the delicious taste, and the friendly service from the staff. This hidden gem in Hilo offers a good variety of different kinds of pastries. If you’re an Ube lover, the Ube Crounuts are amazing, from the crispy texture to the cream filling. It feels like one went to France when eating these pastries, but even better. Any of their croissants are recommended (crispy and flaky on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside), as are cinnamon rolls and honey wheat loaf. Customers come here every weekend to get their pastries because it’s SO authentic. They have had nothing but goodness come from there.
