L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is an average, economical spot for rice, gravy, and sweet meats, offering solid value and taste. Customers recommend the mini loco moco, spam masubi, teriyaki chicken, short rib, and teriyaki steak. Portions are good, and the sauce goes all over the meat and rice. The macaroni salad is sometimes delicious but can be a little bland. Service is fast and clean, with staff that is great. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and is in beautiful Kihei. While one guest was disappointed with the garlic shrimps, finding them very dry, another noted the Loco Moco was loved. A cheese burger order had an issue with ketchup instead of mustard and mayo. Overall, it is a what you pay for situation, and the food is a lot better than acceptable. It is take out only, but it is the best food of all the L&L's on the island for a quick plate lunch made to order.
