“We are staying at the Grand Hyatt and hadn’t tried Hale Nalu. Glad we did! Enjoyed the “Shrimp-wreck salad”. Someone told us they put way too much dressing on it, so we ordered it on the side. Glad we did! Only used about half of what they gave us. My wife got the Kauai garden salad. Also very good. And for good measure, we tried out the house made hummus. Worth it!“

“This place was highly recommended by my patient that was part of a Facebook Group that posted about this place a lot and they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). “This is a great hotel restaurant spot! Do not miss the lobster dynamite which is a great value as well as delicious. It's a whole lobster tail stuffed with essentially a warm lobster salad. Black cod bites were to die for! The special last night was a surf and turf-esque roll with wagyu beef and shrimp tempura, also delicious. The only thing I would skip is th vegi maki roll. WAY too much shiso in it. Tasted like straight pine sol floor cleaner. Otherwise drinks were great also.“

“Food is still good however the service now sucks. if your eating and want something else or another drink. whoever is serving you will not get it you are told that you must go back up to the cashier and order it there. what kind of crap is that. when told that I replied that "Then no need to tip you right" ? got a dirty look for that one, I'm just saying what's the purpose of having a waiter/waitress that won't get anything may as well go to the Crack. glad the one in Kalaheo isn't like poipu !!“

“My friend and I had just spent time with our families on the Kauai Plantation Railway and we decided to head over to the lounge for an adult beverage. We both had Mai Tais and they were really very good. Our bartender was great and took good care of us. The lounge was cool because it feels like you stepped back in time. Once our families caught up to us we moved to the outside patio which has a little more of a modern feel which opened up to an open grassy area where the kids ran around and played. The Mai Tais were so good that we came back two days later for round 2. If you want a great Mai Tai and a nice spot to chill and relax, this is your spot.“

“Banging Bloody Mary’s, super friendly and helpful staff and amazing house burger. Don’t let previous bad reviews put you off, this place is awesome. Plus there’s PowerPoints to charge and bag hooks plus cool decor. Also the bar girl caught a bird and freed it outside again“
