Kurtistown Cafe offers a delightful dining experience with its freshly prepared, super delicious dishes made with regional products. The price-performance ratio is great, and the friendly staff ensures a pleasant atmosphere. The menu features a variety of options, including the popular Poke, Chicken Katsu, and a tasty BBQ Platter. Customers have enjoyed the sweet and sour spare ribs as an affordable option, noting it to be excellent. The burgers, especially the teri beef burger, are praised for their quality, though some may have a few tough parts. The garlic ahi special is another favorite, and many diners appreciate the generous portions, like the mini plate of garlic chicken. The cafe is a nice little lunch stop for those traveling between Hilo and Volcano National Park, with a good number of tables available for dining in or takeout. Overall, Kurtistown Cafe is a gem that delivers a consistently enjoyable dining experience, often seen as a convenient stop on the way to explore the nearby volcano.
