Feast your eyes on this view, wow! The calamari here is thick and meaty. I really enjoyed my Kalua pork tacos, local vibes. The Hula pie was a fun treat for dessert. Get it twisted if offered. Free valet parking
Calamari did not taste right

Great location and atmosphere - good service. Food is average at best. But I'm guessing most people don't mind as the place is so laid back.

My least favorite meal on the island. Maybe just don’t get the poke bowl, but good vibes/views

We came here on our way to our Airbnb after we flew in and it was the perfect Aloha to Hawaii!!! Our server was incredible, drinks were great, food was fresh and tasty, the atmosphere was beautiful and the live Hawaiian music was the cheery on top! We didn’t have to wait for a table of 4 at Barefoot Bar! Get the Hula Pie!!!

Walked in without reservations. We were told there will be about a 15 minute wait. However, after about 8 minutes, we got a text message saying our table was ready.
The service and food were absolutely fantastic! It’s was a bit pricey. However, this is Hawai’i so everything’s expensive enter you go.
The atmosphere here is absolutely fantastic! With that laid back island feeling. The service was friendly and fast and give 5 stars!! Quantities are huge and is well worth the money.

Ordered two Mai Tais that were insane expensive - but there was no booze! I rarely drink but decided to splurge while on vacay, drank a Duke's mai tai and felt nothing, so ordered another, and still nothing. The next day on the flight home I ordered a little airline can of red wine - I felt that! That's stealing from me. I paid for the alcohol and the bartender didn't put any in.

Nice place for a happy hour cocktail and appetizers before making our way to the airport, which is only about 10 minutes away. Looks out on a nice, busy beach. Was easy to get a table for 2 at 5 p.m. on a weekday.

Rain dripping from roof into our dinners and delays to change table. Company should fix roof. Ruined experience!
An always go to when visiting Lihue in Kauai. Delightful location on the beach and great food.
Cafe Portofino is always one of our go to restaurants when we are in Lihue. The live violin music makes for a special ambiance. The food is both fabulous (beet and gorgonzola salad, Chianti) and hmmm, that's different (swordfish special.) Our swordfish was only 3/8 of an inch high. When I asked the waitress if they always served swordfish so thin, she hesitated and then said “Yes”. Earlier she had said that pasta could be substituted for veggies but neglected to say there would be a $5 up charge. A pittance when the full bill for two will be plus or minus $200, but full disclosure is always a good idea. The pasta was great with the piccata sauce, which was excellent. Were we a little disappointed? Yes. Will we go back? Yes.
