“Chun P. and I shared a delicious slice of lilikoi chocolate cake here, and some tasty lattes. There are limited seating options, but we sat at a table outside and Chef Orly Yadao came out to chat with us. He was very kind and we were a little star-struck to meet the Food Network star in person (Sugar Dome, Halloween Wars, Cookie Wars)! Definitely stop by this lovely bakery if you are in Kauai.“
“Check out this gastropub. I like to explore different menu options, but having eaten it the last time, I could not pass up their delicious reuben sandwich. Washing down their juicy homemade pastrami on toasted sourdough with one of their cold draft beers is a nice break from the $200 frou frou dinners at the island's fancier restaurants. Wife had a burger and she enjoyed it. They have nine or more of their beers on tap. You can order a 4 oz. sample for $3, or a 16 oz. glass for $9, or a flite of several different ones, or all of them, after which you probably shouldn't drive. All their beers I've tried are great. I'll always return here when I visit Kaua'i.“
“I do a LOT of research in choosing a fine dining restaurant. This restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. My adult son said the prime rib he has was the best he's had. My wife and I had the butter fish (nightly special) and the fresh catch Oscar and they were both beautifully presented and divine on the palate. Yes, there was a Luau happening a few hundred yards from the restaurant but the ambiance in the restaurant was quiet and romantic. Service was on point at every step. We will return.“
“The best meal we had on Kauai. We started with the Poke Nachos. They were great. Loved the wasabi cream. Wally's salad was very fresh and the dressing was excellent. I had the seafood special which was 3 different fish, served 3 different ways. My wife had the steak crown royal. It was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. She said that it was the best steak she had ever had in Hawaii. No room for dessert this time. Drinks were excellent as was the service.“
“Absolutely fabulous passion fruit and cheese danish. Would return for that absolutely! I hesitate to say that the chocolate croissant I also got had too much butter because I know that’s a very key component of any croissant, but it did seep out of the croissant when I squeezed it. I will be returning for the passion fruit but maybe not for the chocolate croissant. Wonderful regardless.“
“Exceptional tacos. Low key, no frills casual eatery.Owners & staff are incredibly friendly and helpful navigating the big menu. We went 2x in 3 days. Fresh griddled tortillas are on point. Imakalua pork is a MUST try. It's super tender & juicy, packs amazing flavor and they put a crisp on the bottom side of the pork that is what couldn't keep me away. Fresh Mahi Mahi & shrimp tacos were awesome and definitely try the mango & serrano homemade hot sauces.Don't miss this spot in Kauai.“
“Food:Possibly the best poke we've had. Went almost every other day while we were on south shore. Fantastic fish, perfect sauce blend that added to the fish without distracting from the flavor. Their poke does have romaine lettuce in it which I know some people aren't a fan of, so if you don't like it, just order it without it.Location:Nice clean little eating area. Decent parking right next to it, but plenty of parking nearby. Old Koloa Town has plenty of cool shops, so we frequently grab food at Big Monster, then grab ice cream nearby and walk around exploring.Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Couple of vegetarian options, but if you're vegan, why are you going to a sushi truck in the first place?Parking: Some spots right next to it, with plenty more a short walk down the block.“
“This place serves great food but it's a little pricey. One suggestion I have for the owners is to improve the customer service provided by the staff who take orders. The ladies who take orders are sometimes rude or appear annoyed. They don't have to be friends with the customers, but it wouldn't hurt to be kind and friendly.“
“Came to Kauai on our honeymoon and wanted to try a local coffee shop. Pastries were very good! Their customer service though was the best! Loved how friendly and helpful they were. The cook was dancing and singing as he made the breakfast sandwiches! If you go on a Malasada day, get there early to avoid a line or a wait.“
“We were really excited to discover this vegan coffee place on Happy Cow. It's all vegan, with the exception of honey. (They can substitute maple syrup as needed). The breakfast sandwich has a taro patty and it's delicious! Acai bowls and coffee are also excellent. Chocolate banana bread was exceptional. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-26“
“Taco truck with umbrella shaded tables, views of the beach and fresh caught mahi.I ordered a side of the fish along with my tacos and was not disappointed.Perfectly cooked Mahi seasoned with just enough salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavor.Super generous portions and delicious sauces and guac.BONUS: acai, thai, and coffee food trucks nearby as well.“
“It was decent. A solid 4 for a quick bite or drink on the beach. It’s just when you go on vaca across the Pacific Ocean, you want a bit fancier place for dinner. Nothing against the Broiler. It services its purpose on the beach. Maybe we should have come for a happy hour!“
“So don’t assume this place survives on its pretty sunsets. The Mai Tai was outstanding and had yummy kind of sour foam on the top that really sets it apart. Then there was the Mac nut Mahi Mahi fish that was so good I had to stop and yell into the kitchen a thank you. Service was excellent and then…I left my $100 sunglasses on the table and walked out. Completely forgot. We were surprised to get a call from the hostess about the glasses less than five minutes after we left. I am a frequent traveler and know when something is worth the effort to review, good or bad. You will see only a few reviews from me and even fewer good ones. This place is very well run and does all the little things well too. Definitely worth your time and money. Cheers.“
“Cute vibes, delicious food, kind staff, and right on the beach! Ordered an everything bagel with jalapeño and artichoke cream cheese, breakfast sandwich, and a bunch of their pastries - everything was 10/10. Coming back for their banana pudding…must visit for breakfast if you’re staying at the Royal Sonesta or Marriot.“
