The lilikoi malasada……. Oh my goodness. SO GOOD! We also really liked the plain sugar one. We stopped at this super cute bakery right before we headed to the airport, and we are so glad we did! Highly recommend.
Guava cream filled malasada was great, not too sweet and you can taste the fruit. Wish there had vegetarian savory options.
These are the best malasadas! We’ve tried lots of top rated places on kaua’i and other islands, and nothing ever beats these. The fillings are not overly sweet or artificial tasting like so many others are. Our favorites are the lilikoi and haupia, but you really can’t go wrong with any. Based on the reviews, Kauai Bakery offers a great experience with excellent coffee and beautiful, relaxing grounds. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Visitors can enjoy a simple self-guided walking tour behind the gift shop and café that explains the history of the coffee fields and the process of coffee harvesting. The free coffee tasting in the visitor’s center is not to be missed, with 6 or 7 varieties available to try, including a Bourbon Barrel coffee and Peaberry beans. The farm tour is amazing and educational, with tour guides who are enthusiastic, funny, and provide great insights into how coffee is grown. The gift shop allows visitors to take home delicious reminders, and shipping is free with a minimum purchase. Kama'aina discounts are available at the café and gift shop. A fun, quick activity that offers a true Kauai experience, this place definitely made the trip better.
